More space! Xbox 360 to support 2TB external drives

I can barely recall a time when my Xbox 360 hard drive wasn't full of games and DLC. It would've been before Rock Band, certainly. And the situation has only gotten more chaotic since Microsoft starting pumping out regular Ga...

Mario Kart 8's 200cc class put to the test on Piranha Plant Pipeway

We're about two weeks out from Nintendo adding the speedy new 200cc class to Mario Kart 8. After watching a few of these side-by-side comparison videos between 200cc and 150cc, it already feels like I'm growing accustomed to...

Today's Xbox One update improves party chat and Achievements

It's Monday morning and I cannot handle Major Nelson's unbridled enthusiasm for the Xbox One's new "What's on" channel, a collection of "curated links to popular videos, games, movies, TV shows, and more." Clearly this is a ...

After Nintendo updates Mario Kart 8 on April 23, there will be a brand new racing class available for free: 200cc. To give us a better sense of how quick it is, here's a side-by-side comparison of 200cc and the game's curren...

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. update speeds up enemy turns

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. will have an update that allows enemy turns to be sped up with either double or triple the speeds. No release date has been announced. I might actually buy the game now, as I personally hated the enemy t...

Geometry Wars 3 is now a whole lot bigger photo
Geometry Wars 3 is now a whole lot bigger
by Jordan Devore

Lucid Games' twin-stick shooter Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions is no more. With today's massive free update, which "nearly doubles" the game's content, it is now known as Dimensions Evolved.

To summarize, there's 40 new Adventure Mode levels, 20 Hardcore Mode levels that strip away drones and super abilities, some bonus levels, and a more fleshed out Classic Mode, among other things. I played one particularly cool level type, pictured above, in which your ship has no firepower but can drag along this trail of light that will destroy enemies who brush up against it.

New players will see Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved listed on digital marketplaces like Steam going forward -- the new levels and tweaks are now rolled into the base game -- while existing players can, again, play this stuff by updating their existing copy of Geometry Wars 3.

Good on you, Lucid and Sierra.

Bloodborne's game-breaking glitch patched

Last week, Chris told us about a game-breaking glitch in Bloodborne that made it so an item called the Lunarium Key, which is needed to reach a main-story boss, wouldn't appear. The issue has been fixed, so you can play co-op...

Free Legend of Dungeon expansion adds cats photo
Free Legend of Dungeon expansion adds cats
by Jordan Devore

More cats? More cats. And, hello, the ability to tame wild animals to fight on your behalf? I'm into it.

The dungeon brawler with the funny hats and great lighting, Legend of Dungeon, is getting the free Legend Heroes expansion today on Steam. It adds VR support for the Oculus Rift DK2, full controller support for menus, better dungeon tiles, and more bosses, items, monsters, and music.

Notably, though, eight-plus heroes have become lost in the depths and you'll want to save them not because it's the right thing to do, but because doing so unlocks new playable classes.

Geometry Wars 3 is evolving with 40 new stages and Hardcore Mode photo
Geometry Wars 3 is evolving with 40 new stages and Hardcore Mode
by Jordan Devore

This is unexpected. Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions is rolling out a free update across all platforms (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC) on March 31, 2015 that's large enough to warrant a name change. Going forward, the game will be known as Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved.

Adventure Mode, the one with boss battles, is adding 40 stages, and the existing score-based gating system for unlocking levels is being tweaked so that it's easier to get through. You'll also be able to choose the new Sweeper drone and Detonator super ability (i.e., more stuff to level up).

Hardcore Mode, according to Lucid Games and Sierra, "lets players tackle 20 dedicated levels without using a drone or super, including individual leaderboards for no-loadout purists to compete for high scores." Terrific excuse to get back into Geometry Wars 3. (Also, what's the catch?)
