That 19-year-old Skyrim modder landed a dream job

Alexander Velicky's massive Falskaar mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim impressed us back in July. What got me the most was that a large part of his motivation for this mod was to get a job at Bethesda. While that hasn't hap...

The Dragonborn fights vampires and Necromancers

Remember that awesome live-action Fallout movie from Machinima Prime? It was the start of a series of live-action takes on videogames, and the latest one has finally arrived. This one is based on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and sees the Dragonborn has been weakened by a vampire's curse. The Dark Brotherhood captures him, and offer to cure hi if he rescues another vamprie from the Necromancers.

Here's a Skyrim fan film just because

Skyrim: Journey's End is a little fan movie starring the Dragonborn taking on a Necromancer and a couple of undead bandits. It's an impressive short, and it's made even more impressive due to the fact that the costumes and props were all made with just a $100 budget. [Thanks, Shannon!]

Playing Skyrim, Darksiders and The Crysis on a Razer Edge
by Jim Sterling

Your old buddy Jim Sterling has borrowed a Razer Edge with which to do all sorts of videogame things. You can watch me have a bit of a play on Skyrim, Crysis, Castle Crashers, and Darksiders II if you want. I try to make it interesting. A bit.

A more thorough write-up on the Edge will be coming in the future, but for now, watch me do playing about for a bit or something. If you want. You don't really have to.

Smash things with the real life Skyrim Orc Axe

Man At Arms latest videogame inspired creation is the Orc Axe from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The coolest aspect of this creation is how the blacksmith made the weapon look as if an actual orc would make it given that they wouldn't have access to power tools and the like. Neat!

Jimquisition: Guns Blazing photo
Jimquisition: Guns Blazing

Dark Souls 2 is all about going in, guns blazing, and hoping to God it works. Oh dear.

Namco Bandai's PR chief recently shone a spectacular light on the broken mentality of "AAA" publishers, describing the promotion of high profile games as something akin to a spray n' pray crapshoot. Despite the first Dark Souls showing the world how real success is won, it appears lessons will not be learned.

So start praying.

Halo, Modern Warfare 2, & Skyrim brought together

Musician Sarah Schachner did a little arrangement where she covered the Halo, Modern Warfare 2, and Skyrim themes back-to-back. The covers sound wonderful, and it's all even more impressive once you see that Sarah played every instrument herself. [Via The Awesomer]
