Not Review: Resident Evil: Revelations Strategy Guide

Resident Evil: Revelations has plenty of callbacks to Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 3, games that pre-date the internet as we know it today. Back in those dark and sorrowful days, the only way you could read about a video...

Check out Tokyo's Biohazard Cafe & Grill

I'm a sucker for themed cafes. And so is all of Japan. That's probably why Capcom set up this Resident Evil cafe in Tokyo's Shibuya area. As both a fan of geeky cafes and the Resident Evil franchise, I have to check out this...

New releases: Monkey around in Donkey Kong 3D photo
New releases: Monkey around in Donkey Kong 3D
by Fraser Brown

For the love of god, somebody get me a 3DS. I made the unfortunate mistake of backing the wrong Nintendo console, grabbing a Wii U late last year, when I should have put my eggs in the portable basket. Now I'm not able to play the fantastic Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, and I feel absolutely terrible.

Along with Donkey Kong, a few other choice morsels launch this week. Resident Evil Revelations makes the move from the 3DS to home consoles; The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing sees the eponymous hero hunt monsters in a gothic-noir fantasy universe; Call of Juarez goes back to its western roots in Gunslinger; and the Wii U gets a bunch of ports. Lucky me.

Anything making you short of breath this week?

Review: Resident Evil Revelations (Wii U) photo
Review: Resident Evil Revelations (Wii U)
by Jim Sterling

Resident Evil Revelations was a great action horror title. So good, it absolutely humiliated Resident Evil 6 by being superior in every single way -- a fact made especially delicious considering it was a 3DS game in contrast with its big-budget console counterpart.

Capcom, ever ready to exploit an opportunity for a port, seems to recognize that Revelations was the better game and is hoping to pump some more cash out of the project by bringing it to home consoles. As well as a new lick of HD paint, this fresh take on the adventure boasts some extra content and an expanded Raid mode.

It was well worth Capcom's time to make, but whether it's worth purchasing depends entirely on whether or not you've played it on 3DS already.
