Prototype 2 shows the power of revenge (and Johnny Cash)

Prototype 2 is almost upon us, and it needed just one more thing to complete the pre-launch hype -- an "emotional" trailer with suitably melancholy music. It's an old trick, but I still find it effective, so this live-action video featuring Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" is okay by me.  The game launches on April 24 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and I'm very much looking forward to it.

Activision opens Prototype 2 merchandise store

As much as I loved Prototype, I had no idea it did well enough to get a sequel. I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. Now, I find out it's a big enough deal to get its own clothing line? Was I asleep when that happene...

Prototype 2's Supersoldiers sound delightful

Making a supersoldier is tricky, just look at all the failed attempts to make another Captain America. In Prototype 2, Sgt. James Heller will be facing a whole army of them, so color me impressed. Using a new strain of the Bl...

Preview: Ripping sh*t up in the first hour of Prototype 2
by Dale North

At a press event last week Activision pointed us to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 kiosks, telling us to have at it. They let us go nuts with the full first hour or so of Radical Entertainment's Prototype 2, uninterrupted, for the first time. Nice.

I got a drink, ate some cake pops, and settled in for my first taste of this ragey, f-bomby, power-trippy sandbox follow-up to the 2009 original

Early Prototype 2 buyers to get 'Radnet Edition' upgrade

Activision is one of the few big publishers to shy away from putting online passes in its games, but with Prototype 2, it would seem the company is definitely looking to maximize brand new purchases. Early adopters of the ga...

Prototype 2 getting 'Hardened Steel' Best Buy bonus

If you pre-order Prototype 2 at Best Buy, you'll be getting your hands on the "Hardened Steel" bonus. From what I can tell, this bonus almost breaks the game by making Heller near-invincible whenever he gets into a military ...

Prototype 2: Better side missions, expanded gameplay

If gamers had one lasting complaint about Prototype, it's that the gameplay could get pretty repetitive. Side missions were particularly galling, featuring drab time trial exercises that felt like petty wastes of time. While ...

Prototype 2: A more engaging, funnier protagonist

Destructoid has been chatting to Radical design directer Matt Armstrong about the studio's upcoming sequel, Prototype 2. I'm a fan of the original, but fully admit it had some flaws, and I wanted to see what improvements were...

Prototype 2 comes to iOS with Protoslice photo
Prototype 2 comes to iOS with Protoslice
by Jim Sterling

Prototype 2 is getting some extra promotion in the form of a free iOS games. Protoslice is a puzzle game in which you have to move Sgt. James Heller's mutant virus blades out of the way of a panic button without getting cut. It doesn't look all that hot, but it's free!

I think you should watch the video above, whether you get the game or not. It's incredibly dynamic.

Radical Entertainment talks Prototype 2 at gamescom

As a guy who lives in a city that used to be divided into two areas by a wall, it intrigues me very much to see how the storyline of Prototype 2 is developping. I had a chat with the studio head of Radical Entertainment abou...

Prototype 2 screens are full of sharp, pointy things

You want screenshots for Prototype 2? No? Tough bollocks, son, you got 'em anyway! There's plenty of death and destruction in these images, as James Heller chews through half a city with his mutant virus arms. Fire, claws, knives, there's basically everything you need to commit your favorite brand of genocide.  I am so stoked for this game.
