That Prey 2 countdown was for a fan site and petition

The countdown website for Prey 2 has ended, and even with publisher Bethesda stepping in to warn anxious fans that it was not involved, a part of me wanted to believe that it was all part of an act. As it turns out, the Alien...

Prey 2 teaser site updated, but Bethesda not responsible

Remember that mysterious Prey 2 countdown website that reassured many of us that the game was still a thing? Well, it seems to have been updated, but not by Bethesda. In fact, according to the publisher, they're not even...

Prey 2 still not dead, merely 'in limbo'

It had a fantastic debut, but ever since then, Prey 2 has had a run of bad luck. Bethesda's got the game on ice until at least next year, and all signs point to the plug being pulled. Designer Nathan Cheever, however, is reso...

Prey 2 not canceled, but delayed until at least 2013

Bethesda has announced that, contrary to fears, Prey 2 will NOT be canceled. However, it has admitted that development did not go according to plan and, as a result, the Blade Runner-esque sequel will miss its projected 2012 ...

The DTOID Show: Assassin's Creed 3, Prey 2, & XBLA Next photo
The DTOID Show: Assassin's Creed 3, Prey 2, & XBLA Next
by Max Scoville

Good evening my sexy little somethings. Here we are again with another sumptuous episode of The Destructoid Show. I honestly have no idea if people even read these little blurbs or if they just watch the video. I don't even know why I try to write sentences anymore.

On today's show, we're gushing over Assassin's Creed III, including my video impressions and the interview I did, as well as Conrad Zimmerman's preview, and subsequent post regarding scalping. On top of that, there are details about the three different special editions of the game and its Wii-U functionality.

Aside from Assassin's Creed III, there's also that rumor about Prey 2 being cancelled, a rundown of the upcoming XBLA Arcade Next event, which includes Minecraft for 360 and Trials 2.

But wait there's more: we're giving away four copies of Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 for the PS Vita. All you need to do is pick your three favorite character's from the game's roster and draw them... Doing something. Anything. Hanging out. Send that to cookies@destructoid.com by this Thursday, March 29th, at 11:59 PM Pacific time and a winner is you. (Sigh) Once again, this contest is US only. Sorry guys.

Bethesda is bringing Prey 2, Skyrim, and Rage to PAX

Merely thinking about the lines that will form around Bethesda Softwork's titles at PAX Prime 2011 has my legs aching. Booth #1314 is where you can get your hands on id's Rage and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. For Prey 2, ther...

Prey 2 screens show Tommy, sleazy alien alleyways

I'll be honest -- in the Gamescom madness, I can't tell what's new and what's old anymore. I think we haven't posted these Prey 2 before, but if we have ... you can stuff it up your arse.  These possibly-fresh images rev...

Interview: Prey 2 project lead Chris Rhinehart photo
Interview: Prey 2 project lead Chris Rhinehart
by Allistair Pinsof

After watching Human Head Studios' 20-minute E3 demo in June, I felt a strong pang of hopeful disbelief. There is just so much craziness going on in the demo that it's hard to tell exactly the game works. This speaks to the nature of hands-off demos, but, more importantly, it's an effect of Prey 2's ambitious, original design.

Last week, I had the opportunity to sit down with Human Head co-founder Chris Rhinehart and talk Prey 2: the limits of the open-world design, the history of the traversal mechanics and what (if anything) will remain intact from the original Prey.

Read on for answers!

Interview: Where is Tommy in Prey 2?

Hollie asked Bethesda's Chris Rhinehart the question we've all had on our minds since Prey 2's reveal earlier this year, and it sounds like Tommy will play a pretty big part in it. There's also talk about the open world design, player freedom in movement and choice, and all kinds of other things. Take a look!
