Finally, some Majora's Mask art that doesn't terrify me

Olly Moss is my favorite artist working on game-related prints, though he also makes great posters and even box art. I never seem to be around when his stuff is up for sale, and that, well, that doesn't change today with the...

Nintendo: Wii U GameCube adapter 'has not been discontinued'

The Wii U GameCube controller adapter has been hard to get hold of, with the last remnant orders seemingly being cancelled by online retailers. However,  Nintendo of Europe gave a statement to Nintendo Life assuring...

Act Fast! Lucario amiibo available for pre-order again on Toys "R" Us website

Jeez, these amiibo things sure are popular, huh? Grab your wallets and get to shopping, because the Lucario amiibo (Toys "R" Us exclusive) is back in stock at the Toys "R" Us website. Just yesterday, these figures were completely sold out on there, so you should probably act pretty fast if you want to snag one for yourself.

Europe gets Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire on Wii U this week

A new pinball game out of Nintendo sure would be delightful. The time is right (because the time is always right for well-made pinball spinoff games). I don't see that happening anytime soon, granted, but there's always Pok&e...

Nintendo reportedly discontinues Marth, Wii Fit Trainer & Villager amiibo (update)

Update: Nintendo released an official statement to Destructoid on the supposed "discontinued" figures and, well, it's looking like they are "likely" gone. "We will aim for certain amiibo to always be available. These wil...

Toys "R" Us' exclusive Lucario amiibo is sold out online

I really like covering toys on Destructoid. I get to talk to a ton of like-minded collectors, share shopping strategies, and the community in general always comes together to help one another. It's a feel-good experience even...

Best Buy opens up pre-orders for Meta Knight amiibo

During my day one amiibo hunting trip, I noticed that Best Buy wasn't particularly on the ball. Multiple stores in my area didn't even stock Wii Fit Trainer or Villager, and Marth came up as "Martha" on one of the Best Buy in...

What would you want out of an amiibo focused game?

The jury is still out on the success of Amiibo. Although certain figures have pretty much sold out, we don't know if that's because they were "incredibly popular" or just "made scarce by design".  Regardless, it's clear ...

The new Legend of Zelda has sunsets, apple picking photo
The new Legend of Zelda has sunsets, apple picking
by Steven Hansen

So the new Legend of Zelda is doing the, "Look, you can go anywhere you see in the distance" thing. And doing the, "our world is huge, look at our map, look at our waypoint system" thing. Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma did a lil recorded video showing off Link running towards sunsets and through lush grass.

The map would take "a very long time to walk." So there's automatic horse riding to way points, allowing you to do things like shoot arrows and move the camera while on horseback. "Real horses don't run into trees very often," they explain. There's some bullet-time-like slow motion as well.

Oh, and you can pick and eat apples!

That's about all they showed, as it would've taken a few more minutes to get to wherever they were supposed to be heading.

Mario Maker shows its masochistic side

As shown at tonight's Game Awards, Mario Maker is still in the works for a 2015 release and good lord does it look insane. Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto introduced new footage of the Wii U title and several of the user-created...

You may have missed out on the Wii U GameCube controller adapter

It was always assumed by some that the Wii U GameCube adapter released for Super Smash Bros. would be a limited time type of deal, but it wasn't outright communicated that it would be this tough to find at launch. After ...

Smash Bros. may continue without creator Masahiro Sakurai

Japan is getting those Mario Kart 8 McDonalds toys too photo
Japan is getting those Mario Kart 8 McDonalds toys too
by Chris Carter

I love Japanese commercials. They're produced with such unbridled enthuisasm that it's hard to not get excited for what they're selling -- even if it's McDonalds.

Nintendo has partnered up once again with the fast food chain to release its Mario Kart 8 toy line in Japan, so if you're keen on picking up some cheap toys, head on over -- you're grown, I can't tell you what to eat! Japan is getting a lot of really cool extras too that we didn't get, like a poster, a card, and stickers.
