NYCC: Cosplay and show floor gallery

It's crazy how New York Comic-Con is slowly turning into San Diego Comic-Con. Well, there's nothing in the way of sunlight or summer temperatures here (it's cold and windy), but the crowds are similar. It seems like more and ...

NYCC: The samurai bunny returns in new Usagi Yojimbo game

Most people know him from his cameos in TMNT, but Miyamoto Usagi has been the star of his own comic book series for a long time. His first and only game, Samurai Warrior: The Battles of Usagi Yojimbo, came out in 1988 for the...

NYCC: Puppeteer looks amazing in 3D

I got a fair bit of hands-on time with Puppeteer at New York Comic-Con this weekend, but the best of what I've seen of the game so far was still hands off. And in 3D. Sony was kind enough to give us a peek at a boss fight fro...

NYCC: Hands-on as Green Arrow in Injustice: Gods Among Us

Superhero Green Arrow was just announced for upcoming fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us earlier this week. I had a chance to go hands-on with him for a few rounds here on the New York Comic-Con show floor, at the DC Entertainm...

NYCC: Until Dawn is a horny horror flick that you control photo
NYCC: Until Dawn is a horny horror flick that you control
by Dale North

Announced at gamescom earlier this year, Until Dawn puts players in control of the cast of characters in what looks to be a classic teen horror film. It's a PS3 title set for next year, and it uses the PlayStation Move controller exclusively.

I got a full walkthrough of one particularly horny extened segment of the game here at New York Comic-Con. It followes characters Jessica and Michael as they head out and away from the lodge. The folks with them on this group trip have had enough of their horniness, and have sent them away to do their thing in a secluded cabin in the woods.

If you've seen enough horror flicks, you probably know how this goes.

NYCC: Hands-on with charming PS3 platformer Puppeteer photo
NYCC: Hands-on with charming PS3 platformer Puppeteer
by Dale North

I finally had a chance to go hands-on with Sony's upcoming PS3 platformer Puppeteer here at New York Comic-Con at a PlayStation press event. It's as great as I imagined it would be after hearing about it at gamescom earlier this year. I was able to play exactly what was shown at gamescom, and I really enjoyed the solid platforming and charming presentation.

Puppeteer is a platformer that plays out on a fixed theater stage. It's based on a Japanese performance art called bunraku, and it uses constantly changing sets and lighting to tell its really weird story.

Guillermo del Toro is 'not giving up' on inSANE

inSANE was originally going to mark the beginning of a full trilogy of games from director Guillermo del Toro, but it was dropped by THQ earlier this year. There's still hope yet: the IP rights went back to del Toro, and it s...

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate trailer takes the hunt to Wii U

Will this be the the Monster Hunter to finally win you over? That's what I'm wondering for myself. Maybe this fresh footage out of New York Comic Con will play into that decision -- the game certainly looks crisper in high d...

Hands-on with Virtua Tennis 4 on the PlayStation Vita photo
Hands-on with Virtua Tennis 4 on the PlayStation Vita
by Keith Swiader

Of the launch titles that will accompany the PlayStation Vita's release, Sega's Virtua Tennis 4 is one that many of you should keep your eye on, whether you're a sports fan or not. Utilizing nearly every aspect of the Vita's specs, Virtua Tennis 4 is quite frankly the complete package. Everything from the Vita's graphical power to its gyro sensor and accelerometer are used here, and to full potential.

Sega hopes that they can offer a seamless port from Virtua Tennis 4's console brethren to the sleek, new Sony device. After my brief time with it, I'd have to say that Sega is stepping in the right direction.

A brief look at Yakuza: Dead Souls photo
A brief look at Yakuza: Dead Souls
by Keith Swiader

[Editor's note: Say hello to Keith Swiader! He's joined our New York preview coverage team and is starting off with some previews on upcoming Sega games. -- CTZ]

The Yakuza series will see another release next year on the PlayStation 3 with Yakuza: Dead Souls, a zombified spinoff in which four of the series' characters face off against endless hordes of the undead. Sega is very excited with what they have in Dead Souls, and after experiencing it myself, I can't say that I blame them.

Honestly, zombies in Tokyo? Does that not sound like the formula for success?
