Weaponized horse poop CONFIRMED for MGS V

Poop is something frequently omitted in videogames. How many epic adventures have we all played without seeing our heroes take a quick trip to the water closet en route to saving the world? A lot. Probably. Thankfully, that w...

Hideo Kojima not keen on remaking his previous games

Considering most of the Metal Gear Solid games have been re-released in various fashions over the years, it's surprising that Hideo Kojima isn't too keen on remaking his older games. When asked at Konami's Metal Gear Solid V ...

Oh that Hideo Kojima.

During Sony's gamescom 2014 press conference earlier today, there was bizarre, eye-catching announcement for something called "P.T." which was said to be playable immediately for PS4 via PlayStation Network. It was shown so quickly that many of us didn't think much of it. Whoops.

Turns out that P.T. is a playable teaser for the next Silent Hill from, get a load of this, designer Hideo Kojima and director Guillermo del Toro. The game -- which seems to be named Silent Hills, presumably because that's how Kojima rolls -- stars actor Norman Reedus.

The ruse was figured out by Twitch streamer SoapyWarpig, whose playthrough of P.T. can be seen here. Skip to around 1:16 for the unveil or simply take a look at the .gif below. As someone who hasn't been much into the series in recent years, this is one hell of a way to win me back.

MGS V: Ground Zeros on PS4 outsells Xbox One version 3 to 1

Konami has announced results for its fiscal quarter ending June 30, revealing Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes sales on PlayStation 4 trebled those of the Xbox One release. It isn't all that surprising, though. The...

Konami livestreaming new Metal Gear Solid V gameplay at gamescom

It's looking like gamescom 2014 will be a pretty exciting show. With many of the big hitters set to unveil their new products, we've certainly got a lot to look forward to next month. Now, we've got another publisher ready to...

Kojima makes a statement about nuclear warfare with MGS V's Mother Base

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's Mother Base will serve as more than just a center of operations for Snake; it'll double as a launching pad for Hideo Kojima to make poignant statements about the cycle of war. According ...

Wow, this sure is a speculative in-depth analysis of MGS V's Mother Base

What do we know about Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's Mother Base thus far? Not a whole lot. We had an E3 presentation that contained parts of it, but not really anything concrete yet. Anything else is pure speculatio...

Hollywood loves the E3 trailer for Metal Gear Solid V

It should go without saying that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain had a great showing at E3. Not only was the official trailer a stellar piece of work, and a big indication of how grim the game will be, but the 30-minute ...

In time for calcio (football) madness, PES 2015 gets a trailer

Update: Welp, that video was pulled due to licensing issues. I'll take this moment to root very hard for Belgium to knock out the American team.  I'm a bit checked out after Italy's rare, unceremonious early exit, but we...

Metal Gear Solid V's E3 showing minus the hour of fluff

Konami posted its behind closed doors E3 demo that was the basis for my E3 preview and broken cynicism. But it did so as part of a two hour long thing with interviews and cuts away from the action. This is the straight, uninterrupted gameplay. And it's worth watching again, isn't it?

Our personal game of the show picks for E3 2014

You saw our E3 2014 Game of the Show. It was Metal Gear Solid V. Saved you a click.

Now, it's a good one. In fact, I wrote about why it was our Game of the Show in that very post you just didn't click. But E3 was full of games like I'm full of curry. And Destructoid is an island of misfit toys sort of collection of miscreants, not a hive mind. So let's see what tickled everyone else's earlobes this year.

And, hey, now you can tell like 20 different people why they're wrong about games instead of just one!

Don't send a sheep back to Mother Base with the Fulton recovery system during a sandstorm -- that's my main takeaway from this Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain impressions video.

Max got to see the same extended presentation that Steven wrote about yesterday and if this game can come together into a cohesive whole, Kojima's going to have some real happy fans.

For now, I can't stop watching that trailer. Must've seen it six or seven times by now.

Here's the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain E3 trailer for real this time

We already brought this to you once this morning, but someone wasn't a big fan of it being up already. So, they got it removed from YouTube. But, now the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain trailer is up again, and it'll stay up this time. Promise.

If you've already gotten a chance to watch it, there's nothing wrong with double dippin'. It's a damn fine trailer.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain E3 2014 trailer is grim photo
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain E3 2014 trailer is grim
by Alessandro Fillari

It seems Konami couldn't wait till the morning. The E3 trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has appeared online, and it's one hell of a tease for whats to come.

In the last few months, series creator Hideo Kojima shared some details about what to expect from this trailer -- claiming that it would be light on action and more about the struggles and trials the characters will go through in the game. And he was definitely right about that. This piece here is pretty intense and gives us a look at just how far KojiPro will push the upcoming Metal Gear game.

For more on MGSV and other titles at E3 2014, be sure to check back with Destructoid during the week.
