Kirby becomes a big bad beetleborg in Triple Deluxe

The colorful Japanese site for Kirby: Triple Deluxe saw some updates recently, lovingly compiled by NeoGAF's L~A. One of the videos on the site shows the player tilting the 3DS to pour a pot of water Kirby is floating in, in...

Kirby: Triple Deluxe out in Japan on January 11

You saw that delightful trailer for the new Kirby 3DS game, right? I keep replaying it for the adorable music. We've since found out that this title is called Kirby: Triple Deluxe and, at least in Japan, it'll be releasing on...

Kirby: Triple Deluxe is the new Kirby title for 3DS

Nintendo announcements are like surviving a few years into the zombie apocalypse. Just when you feel like you've gotten into a safe, predictable routine, you get bit in the ass. Case in point, I was on a podcast with frequent...

Guys, there's a new 3DS Kirby game in development!
by Chris Carter

Before today's Nintendo Direct could conclude, Iwata had just one more announcement -- a brand new Kirby game is coming to the 3DS in 2014!

I mean, sure, it looks exactly the same as pretty much every Kirby game in the past, but the Kirby series hardly ever attempts to transcend a basic platforming experience. And you know what? I still enjoy it.

Get milky with OC ReMix's Kirby Super Star album
by Tony Ponce

How can I help you, King DeDeDe?
I NEED A MONSTAH TO CLOBBER DAT DERE KIR-BEH!

Game music arrangement repository OverClocked ReMix has released Milky Way Wishes: A Kirby Super Star Tribute, a project that has spent a dizzying eight years in production. I can only guess at what kinds of behind-the-scenes shenanigans caused such a massive delay, but love for the Super Nintendo classic carried the team through.

Unlike the disgustingly monstrous multi-disc collections like Mega Man X: Maverick Rising or the recent Donkey Kong Country 3: Double the Trouble!, Milky Way Wishes is a respectable 23 tracks in length, spanning all manner of genres from chiptune to folk music. You can download it for free directly from the album's page, or you can mind OCR's precious bandwidth and torrent the pink puffball. The power is yours!

Game heroes died so that you can have this poster

Did you guys get a chance to check out "The Game Over Tinies" in brentalfloss the comic? Once again, co-writers brentalfloss and Dan Roth and artist Andrew Dobson created an abecedarian comic of videogame character deaths -- ...

Even more 'Game Overs' in storybook rhyme

A couple weeks back, brentalfloss the comic began an arc parodying the dark comedy children's book The Gashlycrumb Tinies -- that book's author, Edward Gorey, is the subject of today's Google Doodle, by the by. Anyway, "The G...

Kirby Super Star can ruin friendships

Kirby Super Star. That was the game where we first saw Egoraptor and JonTron's friendship almost DISSOLVE RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES. The comedy duo usually gets along pretty well for the most part in all the games they play, but...

Nintendo reveals dates for Virtual Console anniversary photo
Nintendo reveals dates for Virtual Console anniversary
by Chris Carter

This whole "Virtual Console 30th Anniversary" thing has been a bit confusing for all of us. So here's the scoop now that the dust has settled: on certain dates this year, you'll have the opportunity to download select games on the Wii U eShop for 30 cents, for a limited time.

That's it. There's no catch, it's just a promotion to get people into the eShop -- like a virtual doorbuster sale.

It's not a "trial" version of the game that ends after 30 days -- you just pay the 30 cents and you get to keep it. All Wii U Virtual Console games have full GamePad remote play support, and the ability to fully customize your controls.

With that said, Nintendo has revealed the full list of exact dates for all of the planned games, so make sure you bookmark this page as a reference!

Review: Kirby's Dream Collection photo
Review: Kirby's Dream Collection
by Jim Sterling

My love of Kirby is known far and wide. While the games themselves are incredibly simple, the sheer charm of the titular hero and his colorful world makes for endearing, unforgettable adventures. Kirby has also seen some of the most dramatic changes of any Nintendo franchise -- from the total visual overhaul in Epic Yarn to the ten-Kirby puzzling of Mass Attack, it's a series that's not afraid to be different.

The spherical warrior celebrates his 20th anniversary this year, and Nintendo has not forgotten. Kirby's Dream Collection is a lovingly crafted look back on the publisher's underdog hero, packed with games, memories, and even a cartoon or two. It's also better than anything Nintendo did for Mario's anniversary.

That was a surprise.

Egoraptor & JonTron twiddle their sticks, play some games
