Contest: Win a code for The Sun and Moon! photo
Contest: Win a code for The Sun and Moon!
by Mr Andy Dixon

The Sun and Moon released on Steam last Friday, and to celebrate Destructoid has 10 Steam keys to hand out to lucky readers!

The Sun and Moon, the winner of Ludum Dare 29, is a platformer with a unique mechanic: you can dive into the ground. Momentum is conserved but gravity is reversed, letting you fling yourself high into the air or deep beneath the surface. The goal is always straightforward -- collect the three orbs in the level and jump into the wormhole -- but spikes, endless drops and impossible heights make this more and more difficult.

For a chance at a code, just leave a comment below! Limit one entry per person, and you have until this Sunday, November 23 at 11:59pm Pacific to enter. Contest is open to anyone in the world.

Good luck! And remember, our Huge members get automatic entry into all contests (and double entries if you enter one manually), exclusive beta code giveaways for upcoming games, ad-free browsing, and more! And most of all, your $3 a month helps directly support the site you love. Try us out!

Great offer and I hope there are more to come.

Contest: Win Farming Simulator 15!
by Mr Andy Dixon

[Update: Contest over! Winners will be announced ASAP.]

We've partnered with our friends at Maximum Games to give away a PC copy of Farming Simulator 15 to three lucky Dtoiders!

In the game, players are challenged to create the biggest, best farm possible. Using real-word vehicles and machinery such as tree harvesters, chainsaws and chippers, you'll prepare your land, plant crops, harvest, and sell your bounty in a marketplace. You'll also breed animals like sheep and cows (presumably all within their own species), make honey, and drive a huge fleet of (sexy) tractors! You can play locally or online with up to 15 friends, share mods, and more. Sounds fun!

To win, just leave a comment below telling us your favorite thing about farming. Limit one entry per person, and you have until this Friday, November 21 at 11:59pm Pacific to enter.

Try us out!

GOG.com is giving away Mount & Blade and The Witcher 2 photo
GOG.com is giving away Mount & Blade and The Witcher 2
by Jordan Devore

GOG.com is now running its Big Fall Sale and beyond discounts on the classics and indie games, there are a few freebies to claim. For Mount & Blade, a medieval sandbox title with tons of mods, head to the site's front page in the next 48 hours and scroll down to the giveaway banner. Done.

The process for scoring a free copy of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (and some film called The Gamers: Director's Cut) is slightly more involved. You'll have to return to GOG.com daily to collect seven stamps (i.e., click on a box on the front page). Painless, but easy to forget.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if the just-added Star Wars: X-Wing or TIE Fighter go on sale.

[Thanks, jayjayjojo]

Metro 2033 free for 24 hours on the Humble Store photo
Metro 2033 free for 24 hours on the Humble Store
by Jordan Devore

The Humble Store is celebrating one year of existence and that means a sale. And since websites tend to give gifts on their birthdays rather than receive them, that also means a full free copy of Metro 2033 for everyone who shows up in the next 24 hours.

You have until 10:00am Pacific tomorrow to claim the game -- just provide an email address on the Humble Bundle's main page. Note that the offer is for Metro 2033, not this year's upgraded Metro 2033 Redux. The original version is still worth checking out, though. Great atmosphere.

Your Sims can now 'accidentally' drown in the The Sims 4 photo
Your Sims can now 'accidentally' drown in the The Sims 4
by Jordan Devore

The Sims 4 was notably missing pools at launch, though something tells me many of us weren't playing the game then. As an on-again, off-again Sims player, I passed. If you're waiting for The Sims Studio to flesh out the game with more updates, take note: pools are in.

Today's free update adds pool building (diagonal blocks are in), customization options for swimwear, and a bunch of fixes related to performance, graphics, and Build Mode.

Remember, ladders are optional.

Rejoice! Pools are Now in The Sims 4! [The Sims]

Madden Crusade was made in under an hour photo
Madden Crusade was made in under an hour
by Jordan Devore

Did you remember to adjust your clock(s) on Sunday? I just slept in as always. Some game designers used the end of daylight saving time as an excuse to, get this, be productive.

There's this thing called the 0h Game Jam in which developers make a game in under an hour. There isn't a theme. No real rules, either -- "just make a game, quick!" The results are strange.

Frog Fractions creator Jim Crawford made Madden Crusade for the jam and the concept cracked me up: "Guide your football team on a crusade across Eurasia to retrieve the Holy Grail and drop it into the Atlantic Ocean before time runs out! Your team will follow God's Truth, i.e. your mouse cursor, unless you are clicking in which case they will avoid God's Wrath, i.e. your mouse cursor."

Frankly, I'd like to see a big-budget adaptation. The industry could use more weird sports games.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel's free Halloween content is live right now photo
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel's free Halloween content is live right now
by Darren Nakamura

Last year, Borderlands 2 kicked off its Headhunter series of DLC with T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest, a Halloween-themed mini-expansion that had players meeting up with zombie T.K. Baha and shooting a lot of pumpkins.

It looks like 2K is continuing the tradition with this year's Bloody Harvest Celebration, but rather than paid DLC introducing new areas, this one is a limited time event and is available right now as a free update. It alters the area Regolith Range to feature pumpkin-headed enemies, including a replacement of the boss Deadlift with Undeadlift. Get it? Playing through and can net players an exclusive gun called the Jack-o'-Cannon.

It's an interesting take on DLC, especially for a series that gets criticized for its handling of post-release content. Free stuff is hard to argue with, and I know the time constraint is going to get me to try it out quickly instead of putting it off. Sneaky.

Contest: Show us your Halloween costumes and win Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! photo
Contest: Show us your Halloween costumes and win Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!
by Mr Andy Dixon

[Update: Contest over! Random winner is jondier. Thanks to all who participated! Those are some good looking costumes :)]

Do you like dressing up for Halloween? I sure do! In fact, just a few years ago I went as Princess Peach. I was SO beautiful. (You can see the sexy evidence above. And that's my wife playing Rock Band in the background. She was dressed as Mr Andy Dixon.)

Anyway, if you're like me, half the fun of dressing up is showing off your costumes, and the other half is winning a free game for doing so! (The third half is scaring children. The fourth half is stealing their candy as they run away.) Well it just so happens that your beloved Robot Overlord found an extra copy of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel hidden in his robo-shoe, and he's decided to hand it out at random to someone who posts a picture of themselves in their costume in the comments below!

Limit one entry per person, and you have until this Friday at 11:59pm Pacific to show us your stuff. All costumes are valid (meaning not just videogame-related ones), so don't feel discouraged even if you're going as Elsa from Frozen like every other f*cking little girl in the world this year. Winner will be chosen at random, but you must hold up a sign that says "DESTRUCTOID" in the picture so we know it's really you. International readers are welcome to enter, though we may ask you to pay for shipping if you win.

Double points if you dress up as Claptrap using only items you found around your house.

Good luck, and have fun!

Free PC game! Crusader: No Remorse and that might be Boba Fett photo
Free PC game! Crusader: No Remorse and that might be Boba Fett
by Brett Makedonski

Electronic Arts has discounted one of its games by an undefined divide by zero error percent, all the way from $4.99 down to free. Crusader: No Remorse is currently gratis on Origin for a limited time.

Crusader's about an elite agent that switched sides after finding out his employer was corrupt. Now he's out to take down the company he once worked for. Or something like that. More importantly, I'm pretty sure Boba Fett is on the box art for some reason.

Once Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are released on November 21, you'll then be able to bring your Diancie to a Pokémon Center in either game to obtain the Diancite Mega Stone necessary for its Mega Evolution. What's the new form look like? Less ... chunky.
