You can download part of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls now

Those of you playing Diablo III via either the Battle.net desktop client or the game's launcher may, from this week, notice a 6GB background download initiate. That's quite big, and for good reason, because that download...

Nintendo Download: Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder

On the Wii U this week you can grab Gradius and Cocoto Magic Circus 2. That's it. Seriously, that's it! Yet again, Super Mario Bros. 3 is missing. It's not a lost cause though, as Gradius may not be the be...

Nintendo Download: Bravely Default demo

This is a pretty bizarre issue of Nintendo Download. Nintendo sent over the exact same listing as last week, with the sole addition of the Bravely Default 3DS demo and Mega Man X2 for the Wii U. Those are two killer...

Nintendo Download: Dr. Luigi

Aw yeah Luigi time! Dr. Luigi is hitting the Wii U on the 31st for $14.99. CastleStorm is also a thing, as is Super Punch-Out!!, one of my top 10 favorite SNES games ever. Select Ubisoft titles are also on sale, so check your...

Review: Borderlands 2: How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day photo
Review: Borderlands 2: How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day
by Darren Nakamura

Borderlands 2 has had quite the long tail of content for a noncompetitive first-person shooter. Since its release a bit over a year ago, it has seen two additional characters, four story DLC packs, two level cap increases, widespread release of previously retailer-exclusive content, dozens of new cosmetic customization options, and most recently, the series of holiday-themed Headhunter missions.

Like T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest and The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler, How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day takes place in a single new area and consists of only a couple of missions. Where Bloody Harvest was centered around Halloween and Wattle Gobbler focused on Thanksgiving, Mercenary Day features a Christmas theme. With it comes a very Borderlands take on snowmen, carols, and the spirit of the season.

Nintendo Download: 3D Streets of Rage

It's time for more Sega 3D Classics this week! But first, the Wii U gets Knytt Underground, Castlevania (NES VC), a Little Inferno discount ($4.99), and a Nano Assault Neo demo. There's not a whole lot to ponder ove...

Terraria feels so right on the Vita

You might not think it, but Terraria is definitely one of the more hotly anticipated games to come to the PS Vita. I myself have been looking forward to playing it on the go for the better part of this year after putting ple...

Nintendo Download: Rush, and more Sega 3D Classics

This isn't a very exciting week for Wii U fans, as you're only getting two [old] additions -- Two Tribes' Rush has been remade, and Double Dragon is live on the Virtual Console. That's about it, folks. As usual the ...

Gears of War and Shoot Many Robots on Games with Gold photo
Gears of War and Shoot Many Robots on Games with Gold
by Darren Nakamura

Microsoft's "Games with Gold" initiative has been picking up steam lately, with two games being offered free of charge to Xbox Live Gold members every month since its inception. I usually don't get to benefit from it due to already owning the titles in question, but late next month I'll be able to snag Shoot Many Robots for free. Rad.

Gold members who don't already own the original Gears of War will be able to experience the game that popularized cover-based third-person shooters during this past generation, in all of its chainsaw-bayoneted glory. For the month of December, Gears of War will be free until the 15th while Shoot Many Robots will be featured from the 16th onward.

Review: Borderlands 2: Ravenous Wattle Gobbler photo
Review: Borderlands 2: Ravenous Wattle Gobbler
by Darren Nakamura

Last month, the first Headhunter DLC pack for Borderlands 2 released, celebrating Halloween with T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest. The Headhunter series aims to be quick and inexpensive, offering a couple of holiday-themed missions for just a few dollars apiece.

Next in the series is the Thanksgiving flavored content, with a title as stuffed as our stomachs will be in two days: The Horrible Hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler. While it follows the same general format as the previous entry, Wattle Gobbler has a bit more of the signature Borderlands charm, which benefits it in the end.
