Mr. Destructoid makes his card game debut in Z.

Mr. Destructoid has been in plenty of videogames, but never a card game. That changes with upcoming downloadable trading card game Z. He joins Tex Murphy and Jessica Nigiri (Pikachu girl, Lollipop Chainsaw) as some of the gue...

Devolver Digital asks Jim Sterling five sexy questions

Devolver Digital is one of my favorite companies, mostly due to the fact that it never takes itself or what it does too seriously. CFO Fork Parker is well worth following on Twitter, and the publisher generally has a positive...

E3: 15 minutes to run through all of E3 photo
E3: 15 minutes to run through all of E3
by Jonathan Holmes

So here is my 3rd attempt at trying to see all of the stuff I missed at E3 right before the show closes (here are the 1st and 2nd years' videos if you want). For whatever reason, we got A LOT of requests to shoot another one of these, which was a little awkward. It's like having someone ask you to "tell that exact same joke you told last year, but more funny this time!" I'm not sure we pulled it off, but as long as you guys keep asking us to try, we'll keep doing our best make it happen.

The biggest difference about this year's video is that it's the first time we've integrated multiple Dtoid fans into the shoot. That's mostly because the amount of people that stopped and asked us for a picture or a quick conversation was way up this year. It was strange and flattering. It only felt right to try to return the strange and flattering favor and include as many of these fans in the video as I could. Talking to people who don't hate me is something I will always make time for, regardless of how many videogames are around me or how many wrap-up videos I'm trying to shoot at the time. Being not hated is awesome.

That said, there is a fine line between being "not hated" and "having a man blow... kisses at you while you're trying to demo Resident Evil 6". I can only hope that my dear friend Jim Sterling learns to find that line before E3 next year. That kind of behavior is very distracting!

E3: Chest bumps with booth babes photo
E3: Chest bumps with booth babes
by Jonathan Holmes

I'm still not totally straight on the proper terminology here. Booth babe? Booth Companion? They both sound kind of creepy, which makes sense, as the whole concept of paying women to stand around at a videogame event so attendees can take pictures of themselves hugging them is kind of creepy.

I asked some of these people if they wanted to chest bump, and a lot of them did. Watch for bonus cameos from professional Juliet Starling cosplayer Jessica Nigri, ex-Dtoid live streamer Pico Mause, the developers of this game about lemurs, and many more.

D'awwww! Someone made a Mr. Destructoid shoulder bag!

The best part about Destructoid (aside from the copious amounts of coke and groupies) is all you people. The second best part (again, excluding the sex and drugs) is that we have a green robot as our mascot. Does Joystiq have...

That's Adorable: The wonderful world of PAX East 2012 photo
That's Adorable: The wonderful world of PAX East 2012
by Jonathan Holmes

PAX East is a beautiful event, and 99% of that is because of the people.

The show is filled with humans taking a nonjudgmental look at who they wish they were, who they really are, and perhaps most importantly, at others who are doing the same. That's the kind of thing a lot of people pay thousands of dollars for in group therapy. At PAX, it's the cultural norm. Thousands of people all sharing sides of themselves that they'd be too afraid to reveal to anyone at home, work, school, or just about anywhere else.

I wish the whole world was like PAX. If it were up to me, we would all channel that PAX-feeling the kinship, acceptance, and genuine interest in each other, and spread it everywhere we went. We would all revel in that spirit of fun, experimentation, and artistic expression for everyday of our natural lives. I would adore that.

That would be adorable.
