This New 3DS cover plate is slick and super rare

There's always auction sites, I guess
Jul 27
// Jordan Devore
I'm now lost in a rabbit hole of cool-looking cover plates for the New Nintendo 3DS. It all started with the Mario design above. It's thought to be one of the rarer cover plates out there, and for good reason -- it's availabl...

I was immediately down with the art style, but it took me another minute and a half before Little Devil Inside wormed its way into my brain as something I really, really want to play. A beautiful, surreal little thing that r...

Move over Chrom-likes

[Update: Watch the trailer!] The new Fire Emblem trailer is just as amazing as the announcement trailer. There's also deep talk of fate and choosing a path (some stark black and white dichotomy) between siding with the peace...

Could this be it? A true Banjo-Kazooie spiritual successor?

From people who worked on BK, Donkey Kong Country, and Viva Pi˝ata
Feb 10

We've been let down before, but I'm unable to contain my enthusiasm for Playtonic Games' Project Ukulele, a new platforming adventure from the people we want making this type of game. Formed by six former Rare staffers, the s...

Jan 09
// Jordan Devore
I'm still kicking myself for missing NECA's glow-in-the-dark Jason Voorhees figure based on his loud design in Friday the 13th for the NES. It was exclusive to San Diego Comic-Con, and I should've had a friend nab one for me....

Namco's Godzilla confirmed for PS3, PS4 in the West

Summer 2015
Dec 05
// Jordan Devore
Each new trailer for Bandai Namco's Godzilla PS3 (and now PS4) game has looked better than the last but I didn't want to get my hopes up knowing it was only confirmed for release in Japan. I mean, I did anyway, but everything...

Also, racist talking corgis
I love Catherine. Part of the reason is its block puzzles. Part of the reason is its small scale, with most playable segments taking place in the homey bar Stray Sheep. VA-11 HALL-A--or Valhalla--is that same sort of ba...

PS1-looking PS4 photo

Just for a second I thought this was colored like the silver PS2 I always thought was kind of sucky (or the recent Dragon Quest PS4), and then I saw those PlayStation Japan live stream pictures (via Kotaku) with that ma...

Splatoon might just be Nintendo's most promising new game

Trippy single-player mode revealed
Nov 05
// Jordan Devore
When Nintendo announced its wacky four-on-four shooter Splatoon at E3, I thought it looked cool -- spraying ink on the battlefield and then swimming around in said ink is cool -- but I didn't freak out like some people. Havi...
Aegis Defenders photo
Heck yes, this game
Oh my goooddd. How did I miss this until now? It's like a Nausicaa game. Thank you sir Shovel Knight for making a cross over appearance (above) in Aegis Defenders, which is how it came to my attention.  The Kickstarter already passed its initial funding goal and its PS4 stretch goal. Local co-op and a Wii U version are up next. Here's hoping. This looks amazing.

MediEvil mod photo
Skyrim is finally worth it
Usually I just poke fun at Skyrim modders for rendering photo realistic horse vaginas, but I may finally play Skyrim just to play this mod aiming to recreate the first four levels of the tragically abandoned classic MediEvil.  MediEvil 3 and Bushido Blade 3. C'mon, guys. Needs to happen.

And there are four new Minis to collect: Yeti King, Old Bitey, Alien Lord, and Anubis. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, but these do come in blind boxes, unfortunately. [Via Tiny Cartridge]

They're finally selling real-life Mario Karts

But only for kids

To be a kid again. Or, a 70-pound adult. That's what it'll take to enjoy the Super Mario Kart Ride-On Vehicle, available in March at Toys"R"Us for $199.99. The kart has working pedals, can go in reverse, and there are tires for on-and off-road use. Most important of all, this thing plays sounds from Mario Kart. Hot damn! I want to see videos of some kids' years being made. [Via Tiny Cartridge]
