Payday 2 DLC adds more shotguns and monkey masks

Payday 2 has its seventh bit of DLC, the Gage Shotgun Pack. In it you'll find four masks, patterns, materials, melee weapons, and shotguns. Twelve achievements, too.  Call me old school, but I don't feel compelled to drop five bucks on a few new guns, patterns, masks, and melee weapons. Not when the existing ones work just fine. Adding new heists is one thing. This? Not a fan.

Killing Floor's still alive and kicking with a big ol' update

Five years later, Tripwire Interactive still has Killing Floor on life support. While fans of the game eagerly await its sequel and all the horrific monsters it's sure to unleash, there's a new update to the original tha...

Okay, clever use of color presets, Atlus.  Adachi will be free to download for the first week of Person 4 Arena Ultimax's North and South American release. After that first week, he will revert to paid DLC, so get your free character while you can.

Forza Motorsport 5's Hot Wheels Car Pack is silly

Hot Wheels? I'll admit it -- I got slightly excited. Those plastic orange tracks were my jam as a kid. But Forza Motorsport 5's Hot Wheels Car Pack, the last of the monthly car packs for the game, is really just more real-wor...

Payday 2's Big Bank is a throwback to the first game

Payday 2's heists are much shorter than the first game's or broken up into multi-day sections that allow for some reprieve. I've played levels in the first Payday with equally unskilled, low-level friends for close to an hour...

Thomas Was Alone's jetpack DLC is free on Steam photo
Thomas Was Alone's jetpack DLC is free on Steam
by Jordan Devore

Benjamin's Flight, a set of new levels (and music and lovely narration) for Thomas Was Alone, debuted exclusively on PlayStation systems. Now, here the DLC is on Steam, for free.

You get to use a jetpack in it, so, yeah. Nothing more needs to be said about the subject.

Although, it is worth mentioning Thomas Was Alone is on sale. Fund it with the store credit you earned by flipping Steam Trading Cards, if you must. It's a real charmer.

Free Octodad: Dadliest Catch DLC 'Shorts' coming late summer photo
Free Octodad: Dadliest Catch DLC 'Shorts' coming late summer
by Darren Nakamura

Since its release in January, Octodad: Dadliest Catch has sold over 250,000 copies, according to developer Young Horses. The awkward octopus-in-dad's-clothing simulator is a lot of fun for those who take the time to really learn how to control it, and it looks like we will be seeing more content for the game, at no extra charge. Ah, the wonderful world of indie gaming.

Young Horses says that it had too many ideas to fit neatly into the release version of Octodad: Dadliest Catch, but the studio still wants to explore those ideas through downloadable scenarios. Two of these "Shorts" will be released in a few weeks as a title update. They are meant to be "stand-alone Octodad levels which are self-contained stories."

One screenshot from each level has been released. The first shows Octodad and Scarlet on their first date in a fancy restaurant, while the second involves Tommy and Stacy imagining their dad as a character in a television medical drama. Hopefully things do not get quite as messy as Surgeon Simulator 2013, but with Octodad manning the scalpels, it probably will not end well.

Peggle 2's Jimmy Lightning is less exciting than the first DLC

Peggle 2 is one of those games that's good to just pick up and play every so often, and whenever a new character drops, I get the itch to play again. This time the newcomer isn't an original character like Windy the Fai...

Fight against a giant Scarecrow in Arkham Knight's exclusive PS4 DLC

Scarecrow's reveal during the Sony E3 2014 press conference was a highlight. Woke me right up, it did. Batman: Arkham Knight was yet another one of those games to (annoyingly) have system-exclusive content -- in this specific...

Peggle 2 adds Jimmy the gopher, dubstep

Classic Peggle Master Jimmy Lightning makes a return to zany peg-clearing action in Peggle 2 today, but he's doing so with a new style about him. Since we last saw Jimmy, he got really into dubstep. I'm not kidding...

Review: Dead Rising 3: Super Ultra Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX + α photo
Review: Dead Rising 3: Super Ultra Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX + α
by Chris Carter

Although the DLC for Dead Rising 3 has been disappointing as a whole, Capcom surprised us all during E3 with the announcement of a new exciting prospect -- the Super Ultra Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX + α add-on.

Simply put, this pack is a massive piece of fanservice, complete with a giant zombie M. Bison boss, outfits ranging from Street Fighter to Darkstalkers, and even little extras like Power Stone billboards.

It also has a Rival Schools reference and a playable Sigma outfit, which is enough for me.
