One screen of ODST in Master Chief Collection sums up the past four months

Halo 3: ODST is getting added to The Master Chief Collection sometime in the near future. It's going to be free for anyone that owned The Master Chief Collection prior to December 19, and it'll likely be paid D...

Fire Emblem amiibo support for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. doesn't add much photo
Fire Emblem amiibo support for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. doesn't add much
by Chris Carter

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is out, and you can read the full verdict here on the core game. Of course, where there is amiibo functionality to be covered, I'll be there.

Right now, Code Name supports four total figures -- Marth, Ike, Robin, and Lucina. As of this week only the former two are actually out, with the latter pair launching in April. As such, I'll be covering Marth and Ike here, and cover Robin and Lucina at a later date.

Got it? Good.

Evolve's free map DLC is doing that 'Xbox first' thing photo
Evolve's free map DLC is doing that 'Xbox first' thing
by Jordan Devore

It's great to see free maps in a multiplayer-centric game like Evolve, but -- there just had to be a but -- timed platform exclusivity? Considerably less good. When the maps Broken Hill Mine and Broken Hill Foundry debut on March 31, they'll only be available for Xbox One. Following that initial release, PC and PlayStation 4 players will be able to download the pair on April 30.

"Mine" is set in a cave system whose hidden pathways should thoroughly confuse untrained hunters (like me!), while "Foundry" is more of an industrial zone containing crates of bohrium that the beast can consume (though doing so will make enough noise to give away its position).

If Turtle Rock Studios can keep a steady flow of new content going, there may still be a decently active player base by the time I dig into Evolve. Speaking of which, I need to check in on Titanfall.

Titanfall turns one year old, gives away all DLC for free photo
Titanfall turns one year old, gives away all DLC for free
by Brett Makedonski

Titanfall celebrates the first anniversary of its launch today. There might not be a grand showcase dedicated to everything that's happened to the game over the year, but EA and Respawn haven't forgotten about it altogether. They're quietly handing out gift bags to anyone who still wants to party.

All of Titanfall's add-ons across all three platforms -- Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC -- have been made free. Users can simply queue up the season pass on their preferred system. It's currently unknown how long this freebie will last, so it's best to pick it up now instead of waiting.

This War of Mine DLC exists solely to help the kids

This War of Mine takes a look at a part of conflict that videogames rarely explore: that of those who aren't fighting for a side, but just fighting to survive. It's a harrowing experience, one of the heaviest of 2014 to...

Dead or Alive 5's second ninja pack: $15 for 10 costumes

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is the fourth, final iteration of Dead or Alive 5, but that doesn't mean it can't have bugs or a $93 season pass for all the fighters' additional costumes. I guess Last Round doesn't mean "complet...

Resogun Defenders is DLC done right

As a semi-jaded gamer, I typically despise the concept of DLC. Often times we are presented with content that either doesn't live up to the price or publishers push their content too early in a game's life. Resogun Defenders ...

Monster Hunter 4's Legend of Zelda DLC will arrive this month

[Update: it's live today! Go pick it up] Still playing Monster Hunter 4? Well you'll be happy to boot it up on March 6, as a number of free DLC items are arriving at that time. On that day, you'll get a Link outfit, incl...

One last look at GTA Online heists ahead of next week's launch photo
One last look at GTA Online heists ahead of next week's launch
by Jordan Devore

For as long of a wait as it's been, I'm still enthusiastic about heists in Grand Theft Auto Online.

Rockstar previously said that coming up with missions in which every player in the crew feels important at all times "turned out to be a lot more difficult than we originally thought [and] took several passes from scratch." Console players will find out if the studio succeeded come Tuesday.

Until then, here's a bunch of new screenshots, some of which show the heist planning stage.

Pokémaniacs! Gold/Silver starters now on Pokémon Bank photo
Pokémaniacs! Gold/Silver starters now on Pokémon Bank
by Jed Whitaker

Great news for all you Pokémaniacs out there: you can now receive Meganium, Typhlosion, and Feraligatr along with their Hidden Abilities from the Pokémon Bank, brother.

This comes just after the one year anniversary of the Pokémon Bank, meaning your subscription probably just ran out. Unlike the currently sold-out golden Mario amiibo, these will be available through the end of November this year.

Far Cry 4 somehow gets more dangerous in Valley of the Yetis

If Far Cry 4's jaunt through Kyrat serves as any indication, the Himalayas are an incredibly dangerous place. Whatever isn't trying to maul you is trying to shoot bullets at you. It's like being caught between a rock and a h...

Payday 2 welcomes Jacket from Hotline Miami to the crew

You might not know this, but murderers love cross-brand synergy. That's why hot on the heels of some John Wick co-marketing, Payday 2 is getting a rash of neon-soaked DLC to celebrate the release of Hotline Miami 2. Remorsel...

Rocksmith will turn you into a guitar legend like Hendrix or the guy from Papa Roach

Rocksmith 2014's getting some DLC songs by Papa Roach today. One time in eighth grade, a kid in my class started a speech by saying "Cut my life into pieces, this is my bat report. Echolocation, no seeing. Vampire bat bite your arm, now you're bleeding." I wonder what he's up to. Probably not playing Papa Roach songs on Rocksmith, if I'm being really honest.

The Evil Within Assignment DLC gets real trailer, release date

All that matters is finding Leslie, but it is still nice to see an actual trailer for The Evil Within's first DLC, The Assignment, after last week's ten seconds of nothing teaser. There is a release date, too. March 10. The ...
