Comedy Gold

Running on places like Tumblr and Twitter is a new meme: Videogame / movie / book covers recreated using only clip art and Comic Sans font. The results are... well... check out for yourself in the gallery below. I would total...
In case you've forgotten that Destructoid is staffed by beautiful, talented people, let me remind you that we've got artists, singer-songwriters, scientists, and former reality show stars amongst our ranks. We are some gifted...

In 2011, Egoraptor changed lives with "PokéAwesome." In 2013, sh*t just got Pokémonier! PokeAwesome 2 - Getting a Gym Badge [YouTube]
It's been infinitely interesting to take part in the industry-wide discussion about BioShock Infinite. Many in the gaming press LOVE the game, many developers are REVOLTED by it, and many gaming consumers say it's "...
Silf and Olly was one of my favorite MTV shows of the 90's. I felt sad and somewhat guilty when the show it canceled in favor of more marketable but ultimately less interesting fare like Road Rules. The show was recently reb...
There isn't much to say about this that isn't better expressed through song, but there is one interesting piece of trivia to share. Sexy Luke is played by Capcom Fan Art legend and former Boondocks artist [name withheld per request]. That's pretty awesome. Other than that, I don't have much to say. Just watch the video.
While at PAX East this weekend, Holmes took a swing by the merchandise booth of Mega64 to discover what drives them to produce their unique brand of satirical humor and who they're trying to reach with it.  Check out more of Holmes' Talk Fast interview series!
Destructoid contributor Ian Bonds was seemingly too humble to post this video. Either that, or he doesn't really love us as much as I thought, because this music video created to accompany his parody of Ke$ha's "TiK ToK" is the kind of thing you really ought to be showing the people you claim to care about.
[Teenage Pokemon is a cartoon show about Pokemon in their second stage of evolution. Expect some parody/tribute to videogame culture, industry, players, and events.] I just realized that the first episode of The Simpsons was...
You guys remember FMV games, right? Well, even I remember them, and I'm the resident baby here at Destructoid. FMVs were interactive movies that, you guessed it, used full-motion videos. Think Dragon's Lair but with real act...
A funny thing happened today as a number of reports started surfacing from people who had purchased the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, only to discover the second installation disc missing and a copy of Mass Effect...
I make no attempts to hide my infatuation with pandas. I also don't shy away from stating that I'm not a big fan of World of Warcraft. However, Blizzard knows how to get anyone excited for their games with the always stellar...
Well, it's finally happening, guys. Deadpool will star in his very own videogame, called Deadpool: The Game. High Moon Studios (the team behind Transformers: Fall of Cybertron) will be handling the development duties, with A...
Every so often a marketing idea will come along to gear their product toward 'gamers' or 'geeks', and sometimes those products aren't terrible. Or you get something like Erox, a unisex fragrance targeted at the aforementioned...
Team Space Apes has created an innovative new fighting game that takes the core principals of top tier Super Street Fighter 4: AE tournement fighting and distills them into one concentrated blast of head-exploding tactical a...
A lot of people are saying that gaming needs to "grow up". Jade Raymond said it. Some guy who wrote an article for a videogame blog said it. A taco meat-colored guy who shops at my local Gamestop said it. Everyone is saying i...
Did you know that Team Fortress 2 had a backstory? Me neither. Apparently Valve's been fleshing out via comics since 2010. It's oddly interesting, and brings order to one of the most chaotic kill-a-thons in modern gaming.  Still wondering what all this hat business is about...
Zombies are messy. Like, really messy. Their fragile bodies are falling apart and full of blood, so I'm sure it comes as no surprise that Juliet gets covered in zombie bits after a day of slaying them with her chainsaw. She ...
When I said, "Take my money Replay, take it now," in response to the announcement that Replay Entertainment had acquired the Leisure Suit Larry property for the purposes of remaking the series, I was being figurative. Replay...
Get excite, people. Spy vs. Spy is coming back. The Spy vs. Spy series of comic strips, first published in the pages of Mad Magazine over fifty years ago, follows the hijinks of black and white spies who are co...
Limbo is one of those games that works well because of its atmosphere. When you take that element away, like Dorkly did, you end up with something silly, and maybe a little bit scary, like the above video. Just be warned, once you've seen this video you can never unsee it. Lollipop Spiders. That's all I've got to say. Limbo with a flashlight [Dorkly]
All I want for Christmas is for this Machinima trailer to be for a real movie. Sadly it isn't, which I think is a shame. Don't worry though, there is an Angry Birds movie in the works. It just isn't an homage to Snatch (the movie, you perverts). Seriously though, this is an amazing idea, and while I have less than no desire to see the real Angry Birds movie, I would go watch this movie. Twice.
I've been playing a ton of Kinect games for review lately, and one of these is Ubisoft's Self Defense Training Camp. The game aims to teach you a variety of techniques that you can employ to get yourself out of a dangerous situation. I found the whole experience to be thoroughly enlightening and wanted to put together a video which showcased how there's a way to escape absolutely any problem.
Sometimes I really want to pack it all up and quit while I'm ahead.  That's how I felt when I first heard that I'll have a bit part in the upcoming XBLA/PC/WiiWare title Retro City Rampage. I wasn't sure it could get an...
Sometimes people ask me why I like Rhythm Heaven Fever so much. It's a hard thing to explain. Like with so many rhythm-action games, you really need to play it to understand why its great.  Nest time the topic comes up,...
This isn't the first we've seen of Tim and Eric's interpretation of Saint Row: The Third''s fictional mascot Professor Genki and his "Japanese" game show. There have been bits and pieces of this thing around for a ...
If you missed yesterday's Destructoid Show, we did a nice little recut of the Grand Theft Auto V trailer that went live yesterday. Most people seem to get a kick out of it, but some others are posting outraged YouTube comments because they think it's real. Oh, internet. You so stupid.
This is the best news I have read since the last time I said something was the best news ever. EGM reports that Replay Games has acquired the Leisure Suit Larry property and will release an HD remastered version of the origin...
Have you heard the latest track from Cray-Z? It is totally off the hook. The guy has more flow than the Hoover Dam. It's clear that he is destined to be a hip-hop legend.
I tried to write my own verse in a vain attempt to match the poetic brilliance at work in this poem exalting the might of the mayor of Metro City. It is beyond me. Witness and be amazed.  [via YouTube]
Cuccos: for years we've taken their ability to glide safely across Hyrule for granted. When we had no further use for these beautiful creatures, we cast them aside without a care. We even hit them a few times when they got i...
The wisecrackers over at Dorkly have been on fire lately with their video content. Here we see what might have gone down if Aperture Science operated a campus somewhere near Hyrule, putting a Handheld Portal Generator in the...
Nathan Fillion, current star of the show Castle, is a genuinely funny man but even he can set aside the comedy to address important issues that society faces today. The above video is a public service announcement about a co...

Epic Games' series of developer diaries for Bulletstorm have been pretty entertaining up to this point. Even if I hadn't been barraged with constant reminders of how many times the game uses the word "f--k" (and speakin...
As you might have noticed, we've entered Holiday mode. In the gaming community, this takes many strange forms. From the guys who made Bulletstorm launching torsos at a Christmas tree, to SEGA actually sending Jim Sterling som...
