Call of Duty puts a nail (and bullet) in the coffin of Ghosts DLC with Nemesis

Activision's doing its best to drum up hype for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, but it's not ready to leave Call of Duty: Ghosts behind like some sort of unloved orphan child. No, it has unfinished business, as the ...

Video: Much of Advanced Warfare's plot revealed by trailer, and I think I smell a beta coming
by Bill Zoeker

A campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare came out which goes over some of the plot points. I also speculate on some rather obvious, yet still uncertain, plot developments to come. The trailer also announced a multiplayer reveal coming August 11, which I theorize could come with a beta announcement.

What's Up: Unreal Tournament, AC Unity, X-Men trading cards, DOOM II RPG
by Max Scoville

Today there are a bunch of new trailers for games like Assassin's Creed Unity, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and The Last of Us Remastered (which is on sale) but Bill and I would rather talk about superhero cartoons from twenty years ago, and guns we can't remember the names of in Unreal Tournament.

Former Panamanian dictator sues Activision over portrayal in Black Ops II

The videogames industry has seen its share of legal actions lately, but the most recent one comes from an unlikely source. Manuel Noriega, the dictator of Panama until 1989, has filed a lawsuit against Activision for appropri...

Neversoft burns the eye, gives out knives for studio's last day

As part of merging with Call of Duty's Infinity Ward to make a "super-studio," it is the last day of Neversoft as its own studio. The eye, perhaps made most famous by Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was burned in ceremony and everyone in the studio was given a knife Crocodile Dundee would be okay with. RIP in peaces, Neversoft.

A new behind-the-scenes video for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has confirmed that the game will indeed have audio. Guns will have the pew pew noises, dudes will go "oh no you shot me how did you know bullets were my weakness!?. Oh, and there will be lots of explosions.

Only some of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's new tech sounds cool photo
Only some of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's new tech sounds cool
by Max Scoville

In a lovingly overproduced developer diary, a couple of Sledgehammer bros ran down the exciting new gear in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, including this year's "game-changer," the exo-skeleton, and hyped some of their other groundbreaking innovations such as... as laser. If nothing else, there was an opening for a Mountain Dew joke.

Advanced Warfare's exoskeleton to redefine how you play Call of Duty

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's tagline is "power changes everything," and Sledgehammer's doing its best to explain what that means. There are lots of futuristic enhancements being made, but it's not likely that any are mor...

Do you love setpieces? You'll probably like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare photo
Do you love setpieces? You'll probably like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
by Brett Makedonski

The last decade has brought us ten new Call of Duty games. With that steady drip of titles, the series' developers have figured out how to craft increasingly elaborate action scenarios. Despite being at it for a while, the franchise shows no signs of slowing down. That's great news for players that like their games with plenty of adrenaline-fueled moments.

At E3, Activision was showing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in hands-off presentations. While that format isn't very conducive to getting a good feel for games, the demo did a fine job of driving home the point that Advanced Warfare is going to be laced with over-the-top setpieces.

Review: Call of Duty: Ghosts: Invasion photo
Review: Call of Duty: Ghosts: Invasion
by Chris Carter

So far in the saga that is Call of Duty: Ghosts, the fun factor of the game has increased tremendously through the first two map packs -- Onslaught and Devastation, which allow you to play as Michael Meyers and Predator, respectively. Slowly but surely Infinity Ward has been addressing concerns from Ghosts, adding in more interesting locations on top of a ton of little extras that add up over time.

Although Invasion doesn't have a gimmick as strong as say, a playable horror or action movie villain, its tricks are more spread out over the entire DLC, making for one of the best map packs yet.
