Blizzard is doing a great job of keeping Hearthstone players invested. In addition to the typical daily quest, weekly Tavern Brawl, and Arena schemes invented to reward people with new decks on a constant basis, it has a...
Discounts and a card back
Blizzard has kicked off the Winter Veil event in Hearthstone, which basically amounts to a few tidbits of fanfare, and a sale. The gist is that through January 6, you'll be able to pick up 50 classic packs for $50, at $1 a pa...
It's tied to a recruitment program
Blizzard has begun its "Recruit a Friend" program for Heroes of the Storm in which players can share a unique sign-up link with their pals to unlock in-game rewards.
Notably, you can earn a Vulture Hover Bike mount, shown abo...
Winston is all I really need, personally
When it was announced at BlizzCon that Overwatch is to be a full price title instead of being free-to-play as many had assumed, there were concerns that it would lead to a mass of community splitting microtransactions and pa...
The Aerith NPC has been located in the Dalaran area in World of Warcraft for some time, but based on the latest Legion expansion alpha build, she now has a little buddy to accompany her. The Blizzard team has tons of nod...
Pre-purchase to save 33 percent
Blizzard has opened pre-orders for StarCraft II: Nova Covert Ops.
Each of the three DLC packs will come with three story missions, and the first pack releases this spring. They'll be $7.49 each, or you can pre-purchase the co...
For the Legion expansion
The World of Warcraft: Legion expansion isn't set to debut until mid-2016 (!), but Blizzard has provided alpha access to some individuals far ahead of its release. As of this week I had a chance to try out the Demon Hunter cl...
A 50% discount
Heroes of the Storm's Black Friday sale is upon us today, which provides a 50% discount on everything in the game. But I couldn't find info on the supposed "deeply discounted" 360 day Stimpak (read: XP boost) so I decided to ...
Towers of Doom
Prior to playing the new Heroes of the Storm map, Towers of Doom, my only real exposure to it was reading the all-too-brief objective summary during the loading screen. Thank goodness I was only training with the AI. This map...
That includes heroes, skins, and mounts
Hey, big spender. You may want to hold off on making any purchases in Heroes of the Storm over the next few days. Blizzard is about to throw a fairly substantial Black Friday sale.
From November 24 to December 8, the game's s...
First weekend event starts Friday
If you've been meaning to register for the Overwatch beta and haven't yet, get on that! Blizzard is holding its first weekend beta event for the team-based shooter from Friday, November 20 at 9:00am Pacific to Monday, Novembe...
Rolling out today
Earlier this month, Blizzard announced a two-player hero in the form of Cho'gall for Heroes of the Storm. In essence, the primary player would control movement and their own set of abilities with Cho, and another would take care of Gall, who is attached to the former -- almost like a permanent Abathur hat.
It makes for an interesting playstyle, but of course, it has its drawbacks.
Power couples only please
Cho'Gall looks every bit as delightfully ridiculous as I was hoping he'd be since his announcement during BlizzCon. The two-headed Ogre is a giant of a hero with a massive health pool and an assortment of wild attacks and ski...
Were you one of 'em?
In just three days since launch, one million people have "warped in" in StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void.
The news was confirmed via a tweet from the official StarCraft Twitter account.
Still undecided? Check out our t...
My life for Aiur
When I last left StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, I had completed most of the story. Having now played it all, I've walked away satisfied, not only from this expansion, but from the series as a whole.
Decades after its inception, Blizzard is still at the top of its class in terms of cinematic storytelling, and the new game modes don't hurt the appeal of the overall package in the slightest.
45 new cards in all
Blizzard does a great job with its single-player expansions for Hearthstone. I dug Naxxramas despite the high price point, and I really enjoyed Blackrock.
League of Explorers, by comparison, is a bit less straight-faced, aping films like Indiana Jones at every turn, and it's all the better for it.
My life for Aiur
Although I had played countless RTS games before it (Command & Conquer, rest in peace), StarCraft grabbed me like no other in 1998. Part of it was because a large group of my friends, even those who had no prior affinity ...
Needs more Orcs
World of Warcraft: Legion is still the better part of a year away. That hasn’t stopped Blizzard releasing its opening cinematic though, and dang does it look good.
The trailer shows human and Forsaken airships des...

Heroes of the Storm is known for trying some of the more unconventional types of playstyles, and that goes double for the upcoming character Cho'gall. As Warcraft fans know, this famous ogre has two heads, which will all...
Blizzard time is a lot like Valve time. When they announce a date, you can usually add six months to a year to it. But that isn't the case with the League of Explorers expansion for Hearthstone -- it'll launch next ...
Nova Covert Ops launches next spring
StarCraft II's story won't be ending with the upcoming Legacy of the Void expansion.
Today in Anaheim, California, Blizzard revealed Nova Covert Ops, the first in a three-part series of "Mission Packs," which the studio plans...
$40 on PC, $60 on consoles
Even more Overwatch news out of BlizzCon. Following this morning's confirmation that the team-based shooter is headed to consoles, Blizzard has come out with pricing details. I would have pinned this as a free-to-play game in...
Humans, less so
The first official trailer for Duncan Jones' Warcraft movie is out, and it looks all right! I think? It's hard to say based on just this small amount of footage for a film not releasing until June 2016.
Skylanders Academy is up first
Before long, we're going to start to see television shows and even movies based on Activision Blizzard properties. The company is putting together a new "film and television studio devoted to creating original content" for it...
Info appears on Battle.net
Well, Blizzard is seemingly letting all of the beans spill out before any of its BlizzCon conferences take place this weekend!
According to an image straight from Battle.net (which has been taken down), the World of Warcraft:...
Probably not until mid 2016
Multiple retailers seemed to have ruined Blizzard's surprise, and spilled the beans early for the console versions of Overwatch. But as Blizzard tends to do, buying the premium version of the game will net you bonuses for oth...

GameStop already ruined the surprise, but now it appears things are officially official: Blizzard's new first-person shooter Overwatch is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One alongside PC.
