He'll be joined by the Wizard
Someone's been hitting the gym since his Diablo II days! The fan favorite Necromancer (Xul) and Diablo III's Wizard (Li-Ming) are coming to Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard revealed today.
There isn't an official breakdown of th...
Expected to reappear in mid-February
Blizzard took its closed beta for Overwatch offline in December to pore over player feedback, tighten the balance, and continue working on new features. It will return a little later than some were expecting -- January is now...
Here's the spring schedule
This year, we'll have quite a few opportunities to watch top Heroes of the Storm players compete. Blizzard has some $4 million in prizes to give out during its Global Championship Circuit.
The competition is split up into thr...
Fun times! Blizzard has brought back a Hearthstone Tavern Brawl event from November that features two players battling one AI opponent -- Mechazod. It's a hastily crafted form of co-op, in that the UI is basically the same an...
The Hateful Skylanders
Seeking new money-making avenues, Activision Blizzard announced it would start its own "film and television studio devoted to creating original content" for its series like Call of Duty, StarCraft, and Diablo.
I still can't believe that Blizzard is updating Diablo III as often as they are, nearly four years later. I always enjoyed the game quite a bit, but it wasn't until they eliminated their Auction House and added Loot 2.0 ...
15,000 gold or $9.99
Greymane has hit Heroes of the Storm today, entering the arena as the only Worgen character -- the werewolf-like race of Warcraft fame.
After an afternoon of giving him a shot though, I'm not super jazzed about fitting him into my normal rotation.
Lord of the Worgen
I've fallen a little behind in Heroes of the Storm since Lunara's debut, but I'll want to get back to playing regularly soon. Blizzard is adding Greymane tomorrow! He's a ranged human assassin capable of transforming into a powerful melee-centric beast mid-fight.
Take a look:
Expect it to drop before January 15
Still playing Diablo III? Yay! Brace yourself for a huge patch and an influx of brand new content.
Patch 2.4 - which brings a new zone, Greyhollow Island, with entirely new enemies, as well as new dungeons, challenges, and an...
City design by Ben Wyatt
So, this is silly. A suburb in Ottawa was designed with a little inspiration from Azeroth, borrowing a bunch of street names from cities and locations from World of Warcraft. If you've ever had a burning desire to live on Sil...
Only 500 sets sold
I'm generally not a fan of expensive photo frames, but this one has me making an exception. It's a replica of the Dark Portal from Warcraft, which, as any Warcraft player (RTS or MMO) knows, is a huge part of the lore.
Honor levels and Prestige!
Blizzard is changing things up for World of Warcraft's PVP mode once the Legion expansion hits, and it sounds like the system is going to get closer to the Vanilla era.
For starters, currencies for buying gear will be er...
Short but sweet
I'm not in the Overwatch beta, but that's not about to stop me from marveling at this latest Blizzard cinematic. It's made up of character vignettes that hint at a much wider world, one I really want to see more of in and outside of the game itself. I'm so on board with these designs.
15,000 gold or $9.99 ($4.99 with sale)
Lunara arrived in Heroes of the Storm this week, and I boosted her up to level 5 in one night alone -- she's that fun to play. As an assassin she's capable of tons of damage (I'm usually top Hero Damage in unranked play)...
Great gaming on the go
Mobile gaming often gets a bad rap among the hardcore crowd, but looking at 2015 it seems like the platform is really coming into its own. These aren't your Candy Crush or Flappy Bird clones; these are some legitimately great...
Blizzard is doing a great job of keeping Hearthstone players invested. In addition to the typical daily quest, weekly Tavern Brawl, and Arena schemes invented to reward people with new decks on a constant basis, it has a...
Discounts and a card back
Blizzard has kicked off the Winter Veil event in Hearthstone, which basically amounts to a few tidbits of fanfare, and a sale. The gist is that through January 6, you'll be able to pick up 50 classic packs for $50, at $1 a pa...
It's tied to a recruitment program
Blizzard has begun its "Recruit a Friend" program for Heroes of the Storm in which players can share a unique sign-up link with their pals to unlock in-game rewards.
Notably, you can earn a Vulture Hover Bike mount, shown abo...
Winston is all I really need, personally
When it was announced at BlizzCon that Overwatch is to be a full price title instead of being free-to-play as many had assumed, there were concerns that it would lead to a mass of community splitting microtransactions and pa...
The Aerith NPC has been located in the Dalaran area in World of Warcraft for some time, but based on the latest Legion expansion alpha build, she now has a little buddy to accompany her. The Blizzard team has tons of nod...
Pre-purchase to save 33 percent
Blizzard has opened pre-orders for StarCraft II: Nova Covert Ops.
Each of the three DLC packs will come with three story missions, and the first pack releases this spring. They'll be $7.49 each, or you can pre-purchase the co...
For the Legion expansion
The World of Warcraft: Legion expansion isn't set to debut until mid-2016 (!), but Blizzard has provided alpha access to some individuals far ahead of its release. As of this week I had a chance to try out the Demon Hunter cl...
A 50% discount
Heroes of the Storm's Black Friday sale is upon us today, which provides a 50% discount on everything in the game. But I couldn't find info on the supposed "deeply discounted" 360 day Stimpak (read: XP boost) so I decided to ...
Towers of Doom
Prior to playing the new Heroes of the Storm map, Towers of Doom, my only real exposure to it was reading the all-too-brief objective summary during the loading screen. Thank goodness I was only training with the AI. This map...
That includes heroes, skins, and mounts
Hey, big spender. You may want to hold off on making any purchases in Heroes of the Storm over the next few days. Blizzard is about to throw a fairly substantial Black Friday sale.
From November 24 to December 8, the game's s...
First weekend event starts Friday
If you've been meaning to register for the Overwatch beta and haven't yet, get on that! Blizzard is holding its first weekend beta event for the team-based shooter from Friday, November 20 at 9:00am Pacific to Monday, Novembe...
Rolling out today
Earlier this month, Blizzard announced a two-player hero in the form of Cho'gall for Heroes of the Storm. In essence, the primary player would control movement and their own set of abilities with Cho, and another would take care of Gall, who is attached to the former -- almost like a permanent Abathur hat.
It makes for an interesting playstyle, but of course, it has its drawbacks.
Power couples only please
Cho'Gall looks every bit as delightfully ridiculous as I was hoping he'd be since his announcement during BlizzCon. The two-headed Ogre is a giant of a hero with a massive health pool and an assortment of wild attacks and ski...
Were you one of 'em?
In just three days since launch, one million people have "warped in" in StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void.
The news was confirmed via a tweet from the official StarCraft Twitter account.
Still undecided? Check out our t...
My life for Aiur
When I last left StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, I had completed most of the story. Having now played it all, I've walked away satisfied, not only from this expansion, but from the series as a whole.
Decades after its inception, Blizzard is still at the top of its class in terms of cinematic storytelling, and the new game modes don't hurt the appeal of the overall package in the slightest.
