Tamagotchi mounting a comeback on iOS and Android

Bandai has announced plans to resurrect Tamagotchi on iOS and Android devices. While the handheld digital pet never truly went away, its star certainly has faded since the late nineties. Perhaps the popular egg-shap...

Gabe Newell will sign your horse mask, and then put it on

Don't let anyone say that Gabe Newell isn't a man of the people. After speaking to students at The University of Texas at Austin, which is where his quote about Apple being competition for the PC industry in the living room ...

Japonies 2013

So, like, this is nothing new. We briefly brought up Japan World Cup, a weird-ass horse race-betting DVD game, a couple years back. You might not have heard of it. Or, if you are like me, you completely forgot that this is a thing that exists. Consider this a refresher course in "Japan is f*ckin' nuts" 101. [Vinesauce] Studyguy - Japonies 2013 [YouTube]

Mew-Genics is the newest official Team Meat game photo
Mew-Genics is the newest official Team Meat game
by Tony Ponce

Edmund McMillen of Team Meat has just announced that he and Tommy Refenes are hard at work on their follow-up to Super Meat Boy. It's about cats.

Mew-Genics was conceived during a game jam session, but the duo felt it had potential as a full-blown project. Aside from the teaser image above and the news that levels will be randomly generated, there are no other details right meow. Not even a target platform.

Development is speeding along, so more info ought to trickle down soon.

Incredible unseen footage of Twelve Tales: Conker 64

Sometimes it's hard to remember that Conker was not always the foul-mouthed drunkard we all know and love. He was supposed to be another kid-friendly mascot in Rare's software stable. He even managed to squeeze out a forgett...

Review: Tokyo Jungle photo
Review: Tokyo Jungle
by Dale North

We're not sure what took so long for Tokyo Jungle to be localized (we first played it at the 2010 Tokyo Game Show), but it's finally here and it's every bit as silly and hilarious as we had hoped it would be.

This action/survival game, set in post-apocalyptic Tokyo, stars all the animals that survived when the humans disappeared, with a fuzzy little Pomeranian puppy being the game's banner character. With food supplies depleted and no humans around to feed them, these animals are forced to take to the gritty, urban streets of Tokyo to fend for themselves. And when they find there's no food out there?

Well, they begin to eat each other.

Review: Bomb Monkey photo
Review: Bomb Monkey
by Tony Ponce

Without a doubt, Renegade Kid totally killed it with Mutant Mudds earlier this year. With a simple, no-frills structure that struck a major chord with players, the eShop platformer was a sweet dose of purity in a genre that's struggling to maintain relevance in this modern gaming age.

Having taken the side-scrolling platformer "back to basics," Renegade Kid is looking to do the same for the tile-matching puzzler. Bomb Monkey may lack the flash and pulse-pounding intensity of titles like Lumines or Meteos, but it's immediately accessible to anyone who may be turned off by the seemingly high level of complexity of those other games.

Plus, it features multiplayer on a single 3DS! That's a treat!
