Another EA closure: This is Ultima Forever's final month

Given that publisher Electronic Arts closed Mythic Entertainment earlier this year, it's not unexpected to hear that the free-to-play mobile RPG Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatar will also be shut down soon. Once it closes...

Pinsir and Heracross are part of the next Pokémon distribution event

The next Pokémon distribution event isn't terribly exciting. From August 13 through September 17, Pokémon X players can get Heracross and Y players can get Pinsir through the Internet. More importantly, GameStop...

Cheerful shooter Lovely Planet lives up to its name

Lovely Planet is described as "a game of jumping and shooting," which sounds so much more fitting than "first-person shooter." You do shoot your gun at cute little things from a first-person perspective, sure, but I don't wa...

Something's missing from Hyrule Warriors, Nintendo may have dropped the ball

Nintendo confirmed that Hyrule Warriors will not have an online co-op story mode. A lot of Zelda fans have been excited for this creative treatment of the series, but how much of a blow will this news be to the hype? If nothing else, this at least sucks a little.

There's going to be a Dead Island movie (for real this time)

A few years ago, Lionsgate picked up the film rights to Dead Island but now Deep Silver is moving forward with Occupant Entertainment to "package, produce, and finance" an adaptation. It's unclear which direction the movie wi...

Flappy Bird Family is just as bad as you'd expect

I swore that I would never write a Flappy Bird article and feed that flame. Somehow, I've avoided it thus far in my writing career. But goddammit, I needed something gaming related to do with my Amazon Fire TV!

Dark Link is just misunderstood, calls out others for being racist

Empathy. It's the ability to see and feel things from the perspective of others. Maybe if Hyrule weren't full of such selfish, closed-minded dicks, Dark Link wouldn't have the bad rap that he does.

No Man's Sky is flying to PC just a bit after its PS4 debut

PlayStation 4 players better be fine with sharing their airspace, because those on PC will also have a chance to explore the procedurally generated lands of Hello Games' No Man's Sky. IGN reports that next month's issue ...

What's Up: Metal Gear Rising is still the best, and Nintendo isn't infallible

I'm all by himself because Max went to Asia to pull the teeth out of impoverished children. I don't order old trading cards from the internet, but I did replay Metal Gear Rising, start re-watching my favorite TV show, and I'm bracing myself for angry Nintendo fans.

Does this $29,000 gold Monster Hunter statue have a lil dick?

Capcom is selling a $29,000, solid gold Otomo Airou statue to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Monster Hunter.  Does it have a dick, though? We at the Destructoid virtual office thought it might. "does it...does ...

Review: Gods Will Be Watching

Gods Will Be Watching is a tough game. It puts the player in positions that they'd rather not be in and asks them to make difficult choices. In order to succeed at a mission, you may have to do unthinkable things, betray your morals, and become a monster just to survive a little longer. It's also tough in another sense: the game is bloody hard.

Teslagrad is heading to retail, also the PS4

Teslagrad came, saw, and did modestly well in terms of a critical response, but it still hasn't hit the Wii U yet after its announcement last year. Thankfully we're getting some news, as developer Rain Games is going to ...

Bravely Second looks beautiful, but what's up with the bondage?

Unfortunately I've yet to get around to playing Bravely Default, so I'm not entirely sure what the deal is with the bondage. Is it a thematic thing or a literal thing? Clue me in. Unless it's spoilers. Then don't. We received some words from Square Enix about the game world, jobs system, and so on a few days back, but pictures are nicer, right?
