The Game Audio Network Guild has an awards show during GDC every year to award the best in game music and audio. I missed the event while celebrating Destructoid's 4th birthday, but I heard it went well. Today we have the awards from the show for you.

The big winner in sound is Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Good pick. The audio design was stunning, and went a long way towards giving the game its Hollywood movie feel. As far as music goes, Assassin's Creed II and Uncharted 2 tied for the top award. I feel like Ass Creed II had better music, but what do I know? My true best of the year for music would have gone to Final Fantasy XIII anyway.

My favorite award: Best Original Vocal, which went to the song "Plants vs. Zombies," from the game of the same name.

I USED TO PLAY FOOOTBAAAALL...

Check out all the awards after the jump.

You know, if Touhou ever got localized and maybe even enhanced over here, you'd probably see those games get loads of accolades for their music.
