Unfortunately it isn't compatible with OSX, so I can't give it a go. It looks pretty interesting though! I'd definitely at least check it out.
This is what I've wanted to see for a while. Not exactly as it is, but the concept. An 8-bit RPG allows for a great deal of development time to be spent in gameplay, and as such you could do CRAZY experimental things with this game in order to test the limits of the world. This should stop being all about the nostalgia factor and start taking risks because people will stay for the nostalgia factor anyways.
Okay double post, first time posting from IPhone. Anyway this game has been out for 2+ years now, really not new and it's made on Byond - terrrribleeeee community
I don't know why so many people say that it's been out for 2 years now. It's been in public beta for less than a year. March 27th, 2010. And while the BYOND anime community is terrible, not many of those 9-year olds would even know what an NES is. Nobody has to worry about them defecting from their newest DBZ or Naruto game with stolen source code and coming over there.
Been playing for over three hours now, awesome game and so far very nice and helpful people. No problems at all (Norwood)!
so what server is this dtoid guild going to be on? i see that one fellow is playing on Norwood, so i'll go with that for now
I'll make a Destructoid guild if you want... In Shrenwold, or someplace else, once Ben introduces save game transferring.
