Sadly we all know they'll never get a refund, and Treyarch doesn't really care because their game sold the blockbuster amount that it needed. Activision will just release dlc and ignore the problems. If they really cared about multiplayer for the ps3 instead of just lazy-porting it, they would have gotten people that have programed multiplayer for the ps3 that have had decently high success rate. Instead they don't and will continue work on CoD7: America vs. America.

Well I am an xbox owner and I bought black pops on the day it came Out and got a full refund the very next day , it was dire and like playing a game made five years ago we have all been conned by the name cod modern warfare but I felt like I had been sold what looked like a Ferrari but when I started to drive it I just knew it was a old banger with shiny new paint.
The co op that was outstanding on cod mw2 was just gone all we got was zombies and crap gameplay, the single player was barely passable and the multiplayer which was pretty much what most people bought the game for was just about good enough . I have been a ps console owner and xbox owner for years and I have only felt this way about a game before and that's when the fear stand alone expansion came out ...it was totally pants and made by a different developer I and many pc gamers felt ripped of ( we were) this is that all over again blk pops was sold on the shoulders of cod mw2 a truly superb game in every way ... And no, it's not 1 server per match, like some of you seem to think it is. One of these servers will run perhaps hundreds of matches every second or so. Lots of strain for a computer! Hence it'll kick some matches off-line. Those without T-1 lines are probably first.
So, the main point of all that is that y'all should really stop complaining and next time, don't get a game as soon as it hits the market. Wait for a month or so you can hear the bad side of things too

I think if anyone is being screwed it's Sony. Sony is already having a hard time competing with Microsoft and all it's exclusives and whatnot and then having a glitched-out copy of one of the biggest selling franchises today while the same game works perfectly on it's competitor is really going to make Sony look even worse. (I know that was one hell of a run-on sentence btw). I wouldn't doubt it though if all those complainers buy next years CoD as well...
Anyway, I don't like CoD, or really any FPS, but I had to comment on how frustrating it is that we keep getting glitched games. Why isn't this stuff checked out before release?? As mentioned before, half the time we are promised patches to fix are broken games we never end up getting them. I have no problem buying a game full price, just as long as it's worth it.

@Leon Field but they did get what they were paid for. At no point have they been lied to. A game being poorly made - whether another version of it is good or not - does not mean that you were mislead. It's a given that games do, at times, have bugs. It's a given that when games are ported, typically some element is weakened. Nobody was ever pretending otherwise. Reviews exist, in part, to inform us if a release is sub-par. Nobody forced these people to buy this game, nobody told them they were getting something they weren't. If they weren't such mindless sheep they could have waited to read a few reviews, they could have waited a week for forums to fill up. If you buy a game that has been poorly made then you're a pissing idiot because there are plenty of opportunities to find out if a game is glitchy before you purchase it.

I think you will find that when you buy anything, a PC of software, hardware, a car ect. It has to be fit for purpose. And as Call of duty black ops on Ps3 does not work it is not fit for its purpsoe, which is to entertain.

If they really want to make an impact, they should organize at the local and national level, march to the game stores and hand out flyers etc to inform the general buying public when the next game hits. Target the marketing campaigns, target the main demographic that makes the most profit for the series. This petition doesn't do much to reach the broad customer base of the COD series.
But then again, I don't really expect anyone to take that kind of effort these days. If people are too lazy to do it for their rights, they are not going to do it for a game.

This is the problem right here, this gen gamers have grown accustomed to broken games, had this shit happened in any previous gen it would have been a major PR disaster and devs would have been forced to apologize, on this one though they just shrug and continue to the next game.

remember when toyota had to recall the prius because of a BUG in the car. same idea to a point. you paid for something thats not working the way it should.
and i also recall seeing commercials where it said "COD is best played on 360". were they paid more by MS to pay more attention to the 360 version? doesnt seem like fair practices.

They didn't hold a beta, and this happened. I haven't played it, but from what I've read, it has many problems of a game in beta state.

Modern Warfare was a great game. MW2 came along and was worse. I decided never to buy a COD game again, because it was so bad. I didn't get black ops and i'm glad. They keep shitting out the same game every year, with different perks and weapons. But..we're consumers..and we need new shit to occupy our empty lives. So we consume.
And this is why it never pays to be an early purchase. I always see the release period as just another testing period and then you decide whether to get it after the hype dies down.
More than likely Treyarch is already hard at work on their next title. I'd assume they would have very little time to patch just about anything at this point.
Damn, this is even worse than the reports I'm getting about performance issues in the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2, despite the new engine.
My copy is fine. And all of the people I play with have perfectly fine copies of the game. I don't see the massive bugs and glitches people are complaining about.

I've played COD: Black Ops on the PS3 and I have no idea what the hell these petitioners are so angry about. You'd think they were playing New Vegas or something. I do know, however, that if they expect a refund then they're out of their minds.

if this is the kind of thing that would get me a refund for my copy of fallout: new vegas then i'm all for it. lets hope this sort of idea makes it to the states. as much as i wanted to love new vegas, that game was an unfinished product.

You can test software with a few thousand people before the release of software, but it's almost impossible to test for what it will be like when there are hundreds of thousands of users each with a completely different set of circumstances (net connection, location, hardware differences etc.) Glitches are found in almost every major software/hardware release eg. Iphone 4, Windows Vista, X-Box RROD, wii controller straps, Dreamcast F1 resistors etc. That's just a reality of large scale releases. It's very rare in the tech industry that something big gets released that works for everyone.
Now, this is where a little bit of patience comes in... If you're clever you wait a few months. Doing this is the sensible option because you get the game cheaper and you also get a more refined product. So essentially you're getting a better product for less money because you had a little patience.

I got it and prestiged once and no longer am i able to put up with the lag and noobs. i'm not going to sign cause i said to myself i wasnt getting this game then my friend got it i liked the few matches i played and caved. so no more COD for me i got mag. how is killzone 2?

10k signatures is actually really weak, especially when this game did a billion dollars. At $60 a pop, that's only $600,000 in sales, a tiny drop in the bucket. Plus anybody can sign these online petitions, and they never work.
Frankly, this isn't even newsworthy. It will only be newsworthy if the UK courts determine this game is truly faulty, and a petition wont have anything to do with that.
