these call of duty games are turning into a madden affair...the same damn game with a few changes shat out every year...i lost interest a long time ago. And, no...i dont even think a petetion with 3x the amount of signatures will change anything...not when you look at the number of copies sold....there are far too many people who wont complain...

why should we have to wait 3-5 weeks to see if anyone who actually bought the game to say whether or not it has bugs in it on some random forum. most reviewers occasionally comment on the bugs, if they see them. some may not.

Only had one issue, but it was a huge deal when trying to play through on a harder difficulty level- in the part of defending Khe San (sp) when you blew up the tanks from the back of the jeep, if (when, let's be real) I died the checkpoint was after I got back in the jeep but it didn't move. Only issue I had at all, but a serious bummer.
If people have been playing something they think is crap for months, and then want a refund, I'm pretty sure they're stuck with the game. If it was really that bad they should have gone straight back to the retailer claiming the game was defective. If you keep playing something you perceive is crap, the developer sees that crap is something you enjoy and will continue to crank out turds.
New Vegas 1.02 not only did not do shit, now the Van Graffs hate me! If only they listened to petitions...

Cause they make the 360 version first because it's easier to make.

No, I don't think it will change anything, and in fact instead of working on a correction for this issue, Treyarch is already working on a new map pack to get an extra 15 bucks from most players.
I'm just waiting to see if the pc pack will come for free like it did for World at War, but I'm pretty sure it won't...

I'll also say that if many of the problems are with multi-player, then it makes sense that people aren't aware of the flaws until after a good amount of time has passed.

After Mw2 i said i won't buy any Cod game..but the fucking commercial got to me and i got BOps, bad idea! Last COD game I'll buy ever.

Consider how many people bought the game. I'm willing to bet it's far more than 8,800. I don't think it's a very significant number, honestly. 250,000 people want my province's premier to resign, and he didn't do it.
They did update the PC version of the game to fix the stuttering problems, and it works very well for me now. I'm sure they're working on something.

I rented the game for PS3, was amazed because compared to MW2 it looked like shit. So I sent the game back to Gamefly before I even beat it and got it on PC. 100x Better lol

Honestly, on one side i think this is childish as hell, on the other side though, if by some incredible twist this actually forced Activision to pay money back to customers I.E. hit'em in their pockets where it actually hurts'em maybe publishers and devs would think twice before releasing a buggy game.

Its true that you really cant find out if the game has bugs until you play it at home. From all the reviews I have read and watched about black ops, none have mentioned anything about the lag on either the PS3 or 360. If they did, then that would of affected my purchase. However not all fault can be blamed on the journalists. Most reviewed it playing for a few days in a fairly controlled environment. Activision probably made sure the servers where top notch. So, in conclusion, this is all one big mess and I just wish they would fix the game. As for everyone who is yelling and swearing at PS3 owners calm the fuck down.
My one MAJOR complaint is that Patch 1.05 introduced a nasty bug where it takes about a minute to join a party whereas before it took seconds. The worst of it is that the game acts as if it's in a frozen loop, and I've mistakenly restarted (the hard way, natch) the PS3 thinking it was stuck.
Beyond that, I haven't had too much trouble with the game.

I haven't played Black Ops, but my understanding is that bugs (especially the lag) are just as bad on the PC and 360 versions. Why is this petition PS3-specific?

It is dead simple to get a refund in the UK as it seems to be a simple case of the game being misrepresented; therefore the RETAILER should refund the purchase price and any postage as the goods were not as described.
If they will not, just go to your local Country Court, fill out the simple form, put the reason for the dispute as "Misrepresented Goods" and no more detail.
You pay a small fee, the retailer then gets the court papers and has to appear in defence otherwise they are ordered to pay plus the costs.
It is HIGHLY unlikely that anyone would turn up to defend the action, and there is enough evidence already published to convince the registrar that your case is legitimate.

Maybe it's a conspiracy. Treyarch secretly wants PS3 owners to realize that they could be playing exclusives online like Uncharted 2 or Resistance 2, but instead play the abundant crap that is Call of Duty. Brilliant.

.... yes probably the same jellies that signed up to boycott what COD2 then ~3/4 of the list was playing COD on launch day (protip: if your a spineless waffle don't sign up for a petition on a page/group that shows what game your currently playing).... I guess a petition would stand for something if precedence had not already been set, that their petitions mean absolutely nothing and they will probably go out and buy three copies of the next COD game... regardless of how much pissing and moaning they do now.

if people should be starting a petition for anything it's for Two Worlds and Alpha Protocol lol. But seriously, I stopped playing after MW2. I couldn't get into the games in general. I think I lost interest in FPS once Halo 2 came out.
@Korolev: I entirely agree with your logic, yet i can't completely rule out that this could be OK'd by some crazy judge/court, i mean though in the end the lawsuit was dismissed we all saw how far the whole Pelman v. McDonald's lawsuit went before finally getting shot down, right?

£100 for a game both of us can`t play is annoying we have several ps3 between us to play it on ranging from the 60gb fat to the 320gb slim and it doesnt work on any of them properly, im not really bothered by the graphics i can get by with that, the lag is very annoying - you are dead before you have seen your opposition, then when you see them they disappear again because they are lagging and moving across the screen like some superhero.
But the most annoying is, if you have got fast internet access you tend to be the host and when you are the host the game always freezes, which requires a hard reset to the ps3, which preety much results in 1 playable game every 2hrs.
Im not really bothered about a refund i just want them to fix it, but what would be nice is when they do fix the issues the extra maps available in Feb/March should be free to the ps3 users for all the problems they have suffered with.
