Wow, amazing. I remember playing this game as a kid and it scared the crap out of me. I would play it alone at night in the dark.. it had some pretty creepy stuff and the puzzles were great. Amazing graphics at the time too.

If I remember right, and I may not, I think 7th guest was one of the first games that had a budget of over 1 Million bucks. Also it had awesome (at the time) FMV. Was also on a CD which was pretty high tech at the time.
Oh wow. I actually had to upgrade from a 486 to a 486/dx2 (i think) to play 11th Hour back in the day. I could never get passed the beeswax puzzle though
I think 7th Guest still hold up as decent puzzle adventure, if you compare it to the FMV games of that period. Not so much for 11th Guest, though.

HUUUUGE 7th Guest fan here. I still have my original CD Rom, extra inserts, manual, and strategy guide. Love these games.

FYI 7th Guest is one of the best adventure games of all time -- I'd highly recommend picking it up if you're curious, or a fan of the genre in general.

High five, Nephilym. I have a fossilized copy of Double Dragon in my garage that I used to play the hell out of.
These two have NOT held up very well through time. Unplayable to me, but I hope enough people make the impulse purchase. I sure did 18 years ago. Didn't regret it back then but no way am I spending any dough on that shit now.
7th guest?!?!?!?! AWESOME! Been wanting that game again for years. Hope it will run on my machine. Funny, when it first came out I hoped it would run on my machine too (took a long time to get the sound to finally work), only I worried it would be underpowerd, not overpowered like now.
I loved these games when I was a kid. I actually own physical copies of both. Might rebuy them on GOG just have them in a nice digital format and to support more of these coming.
Always will have fond memories of this game,especially the soundtrack. Made owning a Phillips CDi almost essential. Now, where's my Burn:Cycle?....(anyone?)

I played 7th Guest while babysitting for some friends when I was 14. The house was about 200 years old; dark and forboding, and I. Crapped. Myself.

I'm dying to see Lucasarts on board with GOG. Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, The Dig, Afterlife, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max Hit the Road, Loom, the old Indiana Jones and Star Wars games... There's a lot of classics in those bastards' library, and they need to cough 'em up.

I never did like those games much. Not that 7th Guest didn't seem incredible when it came out with its FMV and pre-rendered 3D backfgrounds. It was one of the first CD Rom games I ever played and it really utilized the medium to do something new. However, my big gripe with it is that the puzzles are all sort of math puzzles, which I'm terrible at and get annoyed with quickly. I got reminded for that when I bought the iPad version of 7th Guest.
@Nephilym: LucasArts released some of those titles on Steam. Sure, it's not all of them, but there's a few. Maybe it's a money issue, an exclusive issue, or even, a rights issue that prevents GOG from buying into the LucasArts license.
@Ilort het: Pretty simple: T7G was one of the first games to make full use of FMV, and frequently. Myst wouldn't come out for another half year, and something of this scale--SIX HUNDRED MEGABYTES OF MULTIMEDIA!--was unprecedented. It helped that the game was drenched in atmosphere and came with a Fat Man soundtrack (of which there was an entire CD dedicated to it).
The BGM for the cake puzzle is something that haunted my dreams for months after playing. And we'd always play in darkened rooms. (I was easily scared.)

@Stevil: I picked up an unopened copy of Harvester from the Goodwill a while back. It was like hugging the late night gaming sessions of my childhood. Sometimes I go on youtube and just watch playthroughs of the old FMV game for funsies. Its a surreal thing, like going back in time to watch something that was slightly risque and kind of menacing to a 13-year-old kid. Good times for me.

ahh the memories. I played this game so much and never ever beat it. My dad came home once with a soundblaster 16 bit package w/ games, cd-rom, and other awesome shit. If i remember correctly, the hard drives kept having to be re-installed, and i never backed up my game saves. I only beat the germ puzzle once, and got as far as the attic? can't remember if i made it thatfar or if i saw a video of it later. I must purchase this soon
