7/7/7: Merry Bungie Day photo

Here it is everybody, the freebies from Bungie. On Xbox Live, you can get a new theme and picture pack set. Remember, it's only available until Sunday.

On Bungie's Web site, they've released the lovely picture seen above from the cover of Gamepro magazine. They've also released some information on the Brute Chopper and two variations of the Mjolnir armor. The pictures of the Mjolnir armor are in 3D so you can spin them right round and view all the angles of the image.

I always find it neat when game makers will give so much detail to their creations. Bungie gives you the weight, length and tons on other info on all the weapons and vehicles from Halo. Sure, it doesn't matter in the slightest to anyone playing the game, but it's nice to know that team Bungie is so passionate at what they do.

[Thanks Kayka!]

Sorry to copy'n'paste my own comment, but it's more appropriate here:

From this page, look at this bit of information about one of the armor variants:

"The MJOLNIR/V variant was developed and tested at the UNSC facilities in Lister, Aigburth, Ganymede; integrating feedback gathered from the Summa Deep Space Incident."

I've got a giant well of halo/marathon and bungie knowledge.
that "varient" of the mjolnir armor is actualy spi infiltrator class 2 armor for the spartan III's, or at least the helmet is. its infirior in almost every way to the normal mjolnir armor except that it has some better stealth properties, why they would mix and match I have no idea. looks wrong to me.

I love the quicktime picture rotate. They use it with mcfarlane action figures as well.

In deep space, only Summa can hear you scream.

I don't really see Summa as having left but rather that he shed his outer fleshy carapace, breaking open its dry but soft outer hull as rays of beautiful kaleidoscopic light burst forth, revealing a being outside of both time and space. He sees both past, present, and future as he transports himself among the many spectral layers of physical and nonphysical dimensions.

He is in fact perousing the dark and light planes of pure insanity and pure truth, both of which would plunge our feeble minds into both great and everlasting despair and pleasure if we were to barely get a glimpse at the cosmic, infinite sights within.

Summa's leaving WAS the deep space incident. This armor came as a result. And so did I.

@cjpkiller: I recognize the armor's origins, but the armor is only here for the sake of making multiplayer more visually customizable, as far as anyone can tell. I seriously doubt that Bungie is going to give the armor any special in-game abilities, as that runs the risk of seriously screwing up the online-play dynamics. It's all about giving the player more customization, not so much about any Halo continuity.

I like the looks of the new armors. I was rather disappointed when they revealed that the MC would use the same armor he did in Halo 2 rather than get a new suit, but I'm a little happier now.
