so very little to play...OH WAIT THERE'S 18 GAMES I WILL BE GETTING INCLUDING:
10 EXCLUSIVES,
7 GAMES WITH CRAPLOAD EXCLUSIVE CONTENT,
THAT IS SO LITTLE. It's not like Vita with it's sizable line-up of 10-12 games from which maybe 3 didn't suck ass, but still weren't any good.
"I think Pikmin 3 and MonHun look far more compelling."
So the third Pikmin game and the millionth sub-variant of Monster Hunter (both of which are available for the Wii as well) are bigger system sellers for you than Mario 64 in 1996?
I don't know what to say other than, "Strongly Disagree."
Does that clear up why some people are hesitant? Still wanna look at us and shake heads?

This x10000. Many of these games I can already own and play. Of the remaining games, a lot are like New Super Mario Brothers U, which is technically "new" but barely counts. Then there are some minigame collections, work-out games, and dancing games.
That leaves.. ZombiU as the only moderately interesting game. MAYBE "Game and Wario" if they do something special with it, but I'm betting it'll be a good-but-not-system-selling minigame collection.
most of these games are completely exclusive to Wii U while the rest of them have a lot of exclusive content and modes.
I also owned a Wii, and, TBH, I never turned entirely against it. Sure, I don't play it a lot, but I don't play my PS3 a lot either. It's a fine little console for what it does.
Just because I'm not stupidly excited for a bunch of ports, half-hearted sequels, and minigame collections, doesn't mean I hate Nintendo or that I'm a "hater" or anything. It's probably just that I'm mostly a PC gamer now, and I just don't care as much about this whole space. I'm far, far more interested in the stuff coming out of Kickstarter, for example, than this entirely line-up.
Okay. But I was like, 6 then and have never liked platformers much(probably because I enjoyed watching them instead)
And I am a HUMONGOUS monster hunter fan(in spirit, not actual size), so I'm on a huge high right now...'specially since I accurately predicted this coming...^.^;;
Few of these multiplat games have enough exclusive content/modes to justify buying a new console. Add to the fact that people probably already have PSN/Xbox live friends they want to play these games with and the prospect of some last minute extra thrown in doesn't seem worth it.
I also am hesitant to buy any wii U ports on the off chance that they force you to play with some touch screen bullshit like Arkham City is doing, when all you want to do is use traditional controls.
"All the shovelware"? It's probably about as comparable to the amount of shovelware you'd find on the 360/PS3, certainly not as bad as the Wii got in the end.
OT: Got to say, ZombiU and Lego City are probably my must buys if I get one at launch. The Bayonetta 2 announcement was probably the biggest surprise of the days, though.
that's still 11 exclusive titles coming out in the first 3 months that i want, period. when i consider buying a console, i always want this system to have 10 exclusive games that i REALLY want before buying it. add to that the fact that rest of the games have sizable exclusive content(that's why i was holding on, on buying some of those) like Tekken Tag 2(Nintendo character skins, modes, stages etc.). plus there's the offline multiplayer part(5 people playing at the same time, co-op/multiplayer for 2 without sharing the same screen), the fact that i won't have to hog TV while playing etc.
that sells me on Wii U.
"I also am hesitant to buy any wii U ports on the off chance that they force you to play with some touch screen bullshit like Arkham City is doing, when all you want to do is use traditional controls."
you DO know that all ports have classic-controller option, right(it may differ in exclusive due to nature of gameplay in those games).
To be fair, the point of fifty games is that when you put your personal filters in place, you can find ten or so games that you want.
As for others pointing out the number of ports and late ports, on one hand I'm not happy with it. On the other hand, they are incentives for people who are already considering a WiiU and haven't bought those games already.
Bayonetta 2 is pushing me pretty hard to a system that I was originally planning to ignore for a couple of years, after seeing years of lousy Wii gaming (which Nintendo of America only made worse in the latter years). But Bayonetta 2 puts the system back on my radar, which makes some of the borderline (entertaining, but not system seller) games like Nintendo Land back on my radar. And once you are already considering the system, you start considering picking up the ports of multi-platform games. Stuff like Nintendo Land isn't enough to warrant an early purchase, but I could get the WiiU version of Warriors Orochi 3 as well (a game that isn't going to suffer if Nintendo botches online again). I might think about the WiiU version of Tekken Tag 2. I never picked up Darksiders II, so maybe I'll consider the WiiU version of that.
yet, with Wii U actually having 50/50 split between exclusive and ports(with many of them being heavily enhanced ones) it's "horrible", "underwhelming", "disappointing", "it's horror, someone think of our children".
you have over 50 titles that will be released within first 3 months and EVERYONE has at the very least 2-3 solid exclusive CORE titles that would like to play and few multiplatform releases(that AREN'T ports) that want to buy anyway. how is that a bad launch?
I need to sell a Kidney to afford everything I want...
Personally, I'd only wait for reviews for ZombiU, since it is the only game I'm really interested in, then pick up a few other games on the cheap, then wait for some other titles outside the launch window.
Also, I just saw Heihachi grow because of a power-up mushroom. O_o
...aaaand the Wii version is pointless now.
Well, not "really" since it's probably going to sell the best, but if any of you plan on upgrading to Wii U and want this game, it's obvious which version to get.
After that it'll be all about keeping up the flow. If they do get 50 games out and then just stop, then there isn't much of a point either.
And what's with the haters? Shovelware? Wow, really? I didn't see but maybe a title or two that could fall into that category. Compare that to half of the titles I see for the PS3 or 360 at any retail store.
"3 games in the list aren't things I like so let me ignore all of the other games so I can hate on Nintendo."
Idiots.

That's about 25% shovelware without counting any fitness/dance/karaoke titles. Or NSMBU. Price drop plus a Galaxy/Zelda/Metroid title and maybe. Pikmin 3 looks great but not enough to buy a system one year before the major consoles.
Pikmin 3
The Wonderful 101
Rayman Legends
LEGO City Undercover
and Nintendo Land in the system bundle I guess.
Maybe:
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
New Super Mario Bros. U
Game & Wario
Scribblenauts Unlimited
and maybe others will catch my eye.
It's enough. Definitely interested to find out which are launch day though.
In all seriousness, ZombiU looks like it has potential. The Wonderful 101 might be interesting. Otherwise, call me in a year, and I'll give the WiiU another look.
