The 3DS is king in Japan right now. The handheld has just passed the Wii's lifetime sales, hitting 12,752,731 units sold to date. The Wii by comparison has sold 12,698,878 units in Japan.
These figures come from sales tracking group Media Create, which also revealed that 3DS games are in high demand too. 60% of the top 20 game sales for September 16 to September 22 were 3DS titles, with Monster Hunter 4 being the top seller. Other top sellers belonged to the PSP, PS Vita, and PS3. No sign of the Wii U in the top 20, which you can check out below.
