I love when game companies support game music and musicians. I love it even more when we get a rare vinyl release for a game soundtrack. There's a really cool vinyl coming for upcoming 3DS title Splinter Cell 3D. This project began its life as the original soundtrack for Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, composed by musical badass Amon Tobin. That soundtrack was remixed by several artists and released as a remix album by Ninja Tune. Now that remix album has been turned into the Splinter Cell 3D soundtrack, and a special vinyl version release has just been announced.
Available for $30 at UbiWorkshop, this vinyl comes with 3D glasses to view the sweet inner sleeve. It's a 180 gram double LP that sounds great. I know because I checked the streaming samples here. If you're down, please buy either the digital or vinyl version of this release. We've got to support releases like this so they'll keep making them.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I need to play SC:CT again with my co-op buddy. Good times.
Cant listen to while in public though, find myself moving from shadow to shadow and and thinking Im being followed.....
The treatment of the original Chaos Theory tracks on this album is glorious by the talented guys on the Ninjatune label. This album was released back on Feb 21st on the itunes store but I am PUMPED to hear it is getting a physical (much less VINYL!) release. I have listened to it MANY times since then.
@ricochetguro plenty of people still own vinyl! it's great :D I have Amon Tobin's discography of LPs including Adventures in Foam on vinyl as well as other things like Pixie's Minotaur, Mastodon's boxed set, Smith's Hatful of Hollow, MBV's Loveless, Kid Koala, lots of delicious stuff. It's definitely worth checking out listening to some stuff on vinyl with a nice sound-system/headphones before writing it off!
I came off as a little ignorent in my comment where I meant to come off as humorous. Apologies:)
