3D Realms looking for programmer, uses 200x150 Duke Nuke Forever image as bait

3D Realms looking for programmer, uses 200x150 Duke Nuke Forever image as bait photo
     3D Realms

3D Realms are at it again, posting another job ad on Gamasutra (for senior and junior programmers). Sure, there's nothing special about a developer looking to hire. In fact, it happens everyday. But it's not every day that we see a screenshot from (cue the music) Duke Nukem Forever

Along with the posting, 3D Realms figured it would be a good idea to post a 200x150 image of what appears to be a naked "Pig Cop" for the pipe dream known as Duke Nukem Forever. 3D Realm's George Broussard has confirmed that this is indeed an in-game asset, making this the most exciting news you've read in the past fourteen seconds.

So now that we have two screens from what may or may not materialize as Duke Nuke Forever, we're about 44 kilobytes closer to playing the game of the century. Pre-order now to avoid disappointment, folks.

I just hope that 3d Realms doesn't change the name Duke Nukem Forever by the time the product "ships," if only as penance for releasing a game 12 years after the tongue-in-cheek title was relevant.

Take that, Schumacher and Wu-Tang.

o man..."Brutal's" writing FTW!

maybe duke nukem will use Wii controls to slap people who still can play it on their NES across the face =P

make that "thought they could play it on their nes/snes"...that would make a little more sense =P

in any case...this game is WAY long overdue and I can't imagine how many times they had to start with a fresh graphics engine...

everytime something pops up about this game it hits every blog and gaming website known on the internets!

12 years or not, this game will definately hit the number 1 spot on the charts.

Anyone remember the very first "screens" for DukeForever? They were in a PCgamer back in the day. Looked like Quake2 with bad reskins, but I still wanted it.

I also remember my chief concern being that I didn't have 3D accelerator at the time. Ah, the good ol' days.

After all the shit 3D Realms put us through regarding this game, if this title is anything less than golden... I'm not going to be held responsible for my actions...

This is great - they've nearly finished creating the Pigcops! Since we know the weapons were almost all designed a couple of years ago, beta can't be far away.

at this point i could care less about the graphics. The IP was always about the gameplay anyhow. Hell, I'd be happy with the level of quality from the 2001 E3 trailer:

Yeah, Duke 3D was ALL about gameplay. Which in this case, if the graphics on that pig are legit, they look pretty nice. :)

I still want a new GOOD Blood and a new Shadow Warrior!

If and WHEN Duke Nukem Forever comes out, they best think about a new Shadow Warrior or Blood.

Do want.
