What is going on with people releasing games during the third week of November? Uh, hello, Super Mario Galaxy is coming out that week; talk about sent to die ...

Midway is hoping that not everyone is interesting in hopping all around planets and making high-pitched whooping noises, and will be releasing their first-person shooter, BlackSite: Area 51, for the PC and Xbox 360 on November 12. While the PC and Xbox 360 versions have gone gold and are getting ready to ship, the PlayStation 3 version will have to wait; Midway says the game is schedule to ship in North America this December.

While many people will write off BlackSite as "another shooter with aliens," I've had a blast playing areas beyond just what you see in the Xbox Live demo. The combination of the Unreal Engine 3.0 and Stranglehold's massive destruction make for a pretty game, with some intense and fun action moments. I'm not going to pretend the loss of online co-op hasn't angered the Gods, though. It most certainly has.

Looks fun enough, for another generic shooter :P
I can't believe they first said: "We'll release this around Halo 3 so people will buy this, because they will be in a scifi-shooter mindset", only to delay it because of Halo 3.... to november where COD4 and Assassin's Creed and SMG are released.

Maybe they should price it at 40-50 bucks or something?

I'm thinking the same as Hamsizzla. Doesn't seem like it's really worth a buy.

The demo was a bit choppy but this still has the potential to be an interesting single player bash. Keeping an eye on this. The 360 lineup this christmas is a FPS mega-fest. There is some real stiff competition on offer.

Yeah, definitely not a good release date. Maybe since Brawl was pushed back they could've waited until December.

who knows, this may be a sleeper. It certainly can't be much more generic than Timeshift feels.

Should've released this a couple of weeks earlier. It looks like a COD4/Gears of War mashup, though probably not as good as either of them. Still, doesn't look bad. Assuming this is a sequel to the mostly-shitty Area 51, this one looks much better than the first.

I might look into it but the demo i played really didn't give me a
good enough impression. If the reviews are good then i will maybe buy
it.
