In amazingly mindblowing news that everybody cares about, it's being stated that almost a third of all Guitar Hero players are female. Wow.
"A very large group really wants great guitar music, and they don’t want us to confuse that," Guitar Hero CEO Dan Rosenwig boasts to GamePro. "And there’s another group of people who love that, but also love to have more current music, more family music, music more popular for girls -- 30% of our players are already girls, and we want that to grow. One of the great things about having a franchise like this is you can really meet all kinds of consumer demand"
The very fact that I wrote this story should give you some indication as to how quiet and boring things have been this morning.

What does that have to do with news?
BREAKING NEWS: New games have been released today?
Why do I detect some sort of evil, international plot to rule the world with high prices and plastic peripherals?
Reviews of said games counts as news.
This game and the slew of poor games it inspired, and the sports titles are the only ones I dislike. And its because they do a disservice to the quality of the industry, not because I have an innate desire to dislike them. Rather than promote innovation all they do is promote stagnation, as creators just stick to what works, without breaking any boundaries whatsoever (Guitar Hero __ or NBA 2K___). I don't personally enjoy RPG or RTS that much, but I don't dislike the genres, I just find the games aren't usually my thing. I think it was all fine when we had DDR and beatmania, but all Guitar Hero did was change the controller and add some needed song packs. Would have been fine as a normal game, but it was heralded as the second coming of Christ instead.
