Where have all these recent PC fanboys come from? I'm tempted to write them off as lying trolls. I never even knew PC fanboys were real. I'd heard stories but I thought they were just myths.
@myself. Gosh, having some posting errors and quickly rewriting really messed up my post to the point of not making sense. Anyways, yeah I was talking about the cost of PC games. The cost of them are ridiculously low compared to the games on consoles. I guess I was just thinking about countering the idea that PC gaming is expensive, because it isn't.
Whoever said the cost doesn't really matter too much is right though, but people still use it as an argument all the time. Probably because many readers don't have jobs. Whatever.

This is stupid there is nothing wrong about being a fanboy,eg.you fav football team,what is wrong with supporting your fav football team...geez this is stupid.
Not to sound like a fanboy, but, the7k, PC has way more genres than that. Whenever serious gaming is put into the picture, you're also looking at construction/management simulations (Railroad Tycoon, SimCity, Caesar IV, Democracy 2004, etc.), life simulations (The Sims, Spore, etc.), vehicle Sims (Orbiter, Freelancer, etc.), and even some docugames (JFK Reloaded, Super Columbine Massacre RPG, etc.). And practically every other genre, even visual novels and interactive fiction are all found on the PC. It's a great platform for pretty much anything. You don't need to buy games with very detailed graphics. Look for a ton of freeware games and you'll find some very good ones.
I do find it silly to have name-calling and a ton of criticism weighed against any platform for gaming. However, I do have my own preferences (everyone does), and I feel mostly comfortable with PC gaming. I'm hoping that I can give up console gaming to later give up TV completely so that I can be less isolated from society and more absorbed within reality.

Don't get me wrong, I loved playing RPG Maker games, Beats of Rage mods, MUGEN, etc. But they don't define the industry or the PC gaming climate.

Jordan Thomas has a good point. Whenever I poke fun at my 360-loving, COD/Ghost Recon-infatuated friend's siding with the 360, it's always in jest and no seriousness. I wanted a 360 for a while when it was out until the right circumstances came for getting a PlayStation 3 (aunt's friend was offering it for a lower price and MGS4 came out). And I do admit that there are merits and downsides for all of the consoles. Each console was developed with a different thing in mind, and with different goals as well.

You bash PS3 fanboys and yet you don't examine 360 fanboys? 360 fanboys, from since 2007 has been saying the PS3 has no games, it's just a bluray player among the other bullshit comments they sprout on a daily basis. Fans like me got sick of it and decided to right back. You sure did say "Sims" a lot. And maybe I'm crazy, but I find Western RPGs (Also Known As, Offline MMOs) to be a complete drag. "Here's an open-world: Enjoy the cookie-cutter characters with absolutely no personality or reason to care about them." I haven't enjoyed a PC RPG since Anachronox.
When I said "Just FPS, RTS and MMOs", any rational person should have been able to figure out that I didn't mean those are the only games on the PC - Just that those are about 99.9% of the games you find on the PC. The Xbox 360 has Halo Wars and Red Alert 3 - would you say that RTSs are one of the defining genres of the Xbox 360? Because I sure wouldn't.
So, just because you can find a few games on the PC that are of a different genre doesn't exactly mean that the PC is the place to go for those genres. By and large, the PC is the place for your Counter-Strikes, your Everquests, your Starcrafts, and your Diablos.

Back there, I think that being a fanboy did much more sense and helped games to evolute. It was a healthy war. Well, at least it was cheap to own both mario and sonic.
Nowadays, u have either utterly grafics and lack of games on wii (how I regret buying it!), and a lot off bullshit on the other systems. And u have to do a choice, because u can't afford everything.
That said, I hate consoles. It's a shame I'm not getting good fighting games on PC.

His comments aren't exactly on the mark. When Bioshock was a 360 exclusive i thought it was garbage........when it came to the PS3 i still thought it was garbage. Too bad it's only the 360 fanboys who made idiots out of themselves by bashing the game once it went multi - platform, just like they did with Lost Planet and Star Ocean. 360 fanboys realy are the most mentally delapidated morons on the planet to everybody but themselves.

I thought competition was suppose to push the industry forward? From a consumer point of view all I see is that one-ups manship. (please get me a better word for that).
Everyone will produce a motion controller so FINALLY we'll be able to see if it was a worthy venture or a doomed effort. Something HAS to happen. The very worse thing imaginable is that we don't see a killer app for any motion controller. I do not consider wii sports a killer app nor its sequel. A fighting game with motion controls seems too abstract, but a sword fighting or FPS may work; with that in mind, Sony just may be in a good position.
