Ah well, it happens. Sounds good it's getting delayed (may end up better). 2012 is going to be another big year for gaming.
A lot of gamers are going to be broke.

2K delays XCOM to somewhere between 2012 and 2013
2K Games has revealed that contentious shooter XCOM has been pushed back to April 2012 at the earliest and March 2013 at the latest. That's the period of time covered by the new "Fiscal 2013" launch window provided by the publisher. XCOM's shift from its old strategic roots to first-person gameplay has been greeted with a mixed reaction from gamers. 2K Marin has been adding some more strategy-based elements to the reboot, but fans of the original series have still felt a bit let down. Whether this delay was due to 2K avoiding competition or the game simply needing more time is up for debate. In any case, the long wait for solid details and the shifting release windows serve as a grim harbinger. XCOM Avoids The End Of The World [Rock, Paper, Shotgun] Did you know? Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Dead in the water? I can't see it holding on to any hype it possibly may have by being pushed back until then. Weird. This was just posted.
Ah well, it happens. Sounds good it's getting delayed (may end up better). 2012 is going to be another big year for gaming. A lot of gamers are going to be broke. Eh, we'll see. Sometimes delays to make a game better actually do result in a better game. I like the premise and the Cold War-era setting. Dang, maybe it wasn't as far along as I thought. From the E3 live demo, it looked pretty solid. If it ensures a better end product, I hope they take all the time they need. I am disappointed that it's changing the story and gameplay and everything that made X-Com what it is, but XCOM's gameplay looks like utter shit in the videos. Just look it up Jim, look for a gameplay video or demo, it's sooooo baaaaad. It tries to play itself off as a clever and strategic shooter, but all the "strategy" is baby easy like flanking and taunting. It's gimmicky as hell. I actually have this preordered I love the new style, good to see I'm the only one who cares sucks that it's delayed if it means no DLC and a complete product I'm in. Then again I didn't par take in the series till 2003 so I may have missed why it is such a big deal to shift a series. I mean I hated Resident Evil 4/5 but still can appreciate why people appreciate them, also I loved Resident Evil since the beginning of the series. I was really looking forward to it after watching the original trailer (if you could call it that). Kind of concerned about what we'll actually see when it releases. Scared in fact. Hopefully a Summer release. I've been wanting this since it was announced. Getting sick of people bashing it! It's by the BioShock 2 team so you know it'll be brilliant. Huge delays like this typically mean that the game has some serious issues related to game play, namely the game isn't very good. I hope they can figure out something but the name of the franchise is basically making this game an unwinnable situation. 6:00 AM on 05.21.2013 BioShock Infinite's alternate ending is less depressingAre we past the point where I can stop warning people about spoilers?
