2010 release for LA Noire looking unlikely photo

LA Noire has been in development for awhile. By "for awhile" I mean reportedly since 2003. While Game Informer has seen the game, we haven't. In fact, not many have, from what we can tell. But according to Rockstar's parent company, the game is out this year, at least according to its last financial reports. So everyone act surprised when learn that retailers, including GameStop and Amazon, have pushed the game's release into February of 2011.

Joystiq checked in with Rockstar who cryptically said "We have not updated anything since the last [Take-Two] investor's call." So here's the thing -- there's another investors call next week. Seems like a great time to drop the bomb that one of its hotly-anticipated products won't be making it home for the holidays, don't you think?

In the meantime, practice your looks of shock and disappointment; we'll keep you updated if Take-Two officially locks in a new date.

Mafia II came out a few days ago, anyone who wanted to play LA Noire is already playing that.

Rockstar is going the way of Square Enix: annuncing games when they're still probably just making concept art and wondering why the hype has completely died when they finally do get around to releasing the thing ten years later.

LA Noire is well on the its way to becoming this generation's Duke Nukem Forever.

its not unlikely,
every game wich is in development for the ps3 takes felt 10years to get finaly a relase. This was a first party product in the first place and then all of the sudden m$ jumped on the bandwaggon too.

Microsoft didn't jump on the bandwagon. The game was taking too long to develop for Sony's taste (but Killzone 2 was here just like THAT!) so they "gave" it to Rockstar in exchange for the now named PS3 exclusive Agent.

This game doesn't even interest me. The whole era doesn't really.

@ sofik88,

"can they atleast fix the graphics cause on gameplay screens it looked like ps2 game. "

Have you ever actually played a PS2?

"there wasn't a single sandbox game that looked good on ps3 compared to 360 either multiplatform titles or exclusive(dunno if it's because outdated GPU or slow ram memory)."

sigh. I'll never cease to be surprised that somebody who has absolutely no idea what they're talking about just decides to make a comment anyway. Why would you want to just shoot in the dark and hope you hit a good point? What's even in it for you?

Anyway, you're sounding like quite an idiot. Not to mention a ridiculously horrible graphics whore, which isn't something you should be proud of.

Game Informer had a cover story on this a few months back. The investigation system sounds like it could be pretty interesting and original. I hope this ends up surprising people, in a good way, as much as Red Dead Redemption did.

dudebro, have you seen gameplay screens from the game they've showed few months ago? some of them looked good, but buildings, details on environments and objects were awful.

dudebro, i've HAD ps3 and i know what i'm talking about(and smell what the rock is cookin). from Saints Row 2 to GTA4 and Infamous, every sandbox game i've tried on ps3 looked bad and played worse compared to 360 due to constant framerate issues, lack of details and some objects in the game, problems with draw distance and poping objects.

plus YOU JUST GOT ICED

If it is as good as Red Dead Redemption...I'll be happy if it comes out at all.
