Not much to say about these latest screenshots Rockstar sent over. There's some new areas shown and we see some new characters. That's about it.

I find it odd that Rockstar would send these over so soon after the new trailer. I'm too used to Rockstar showing something epic and then not saying a damn thing for the couple of months. Hopefully they keep this up and reveal as much as they can until the release. What do you all think of these screens?

I know i'll get this game when it comes out, but I can't feel slightly meh about the whole series now that I've had a chance to play Crackdown. I need a game with jumping and agility orbs.

Still Images do the Game Justice. Trailers Don't.

People are gonna buy this game like condoms at springbreak. Betcha it will break Halo 3's record.

I agree with Scrixx. To me these screens look a lot better than the trailer did. They don't have that glossy sheen over all the characters.

For those of us who truly enjoy playing the series (and not in some psycho mode in which you get catharsis by doing what politicians would expect you to, but rather in a - this is just pure unadulterated fun, way) this looks like [b]FRIED GOLD[/B}

I am truly impressed. I am definitely going HD next year (I only have a Wii and a PS2) - and this game is a MUST HAVE. I really don't care how strong the story is as a whole - but rather, (like a girl with a guy she already finds attractive) for the game to NOT say anything stupid or screw up what I'm expecting. Which really... is just, a nicer looking version of ANY of the older versions of the game.

Turn down your SNOB-O-METERS... and just enjoy the ride. To me, this looks like a lot of FUN.

Imbeta, pretty everyone in the United States has to go HD next year. The signal switch from analog to HD happens in January of 09. You really have no choice. How are we going to explain this to old people though?

@Orionsaint

Out here in California there are already PSA's describing the switch to digital in 09...not purely HD, but digital signals. Standard definition will stil be widely available, but you will need:

A)A cable box...which are free with any package of digital cable.
B)Some converter adapter thing...which I have no clue as to even describe.

With the baby boomers getting close to retiring, this will be a great time to make this switch, and get newly retired citizens to spend some of that retirement money on a new spiffy HD set.

...Or they won't understand what is going on and die of boredom when they can't watch their soaps.

I think the graphics look like crap, but then again the GTA games were never about being graphical powerhouses. I know I'll buy it on day one and play the hell out of it and love it and blah blah blah, but it's hard to get over the graphics at this point when it's seemingly all they want us to know about (or else they'd TELL US something).

In that regard, until I know something about gameplay mechanics, story, etc. I can't get too excited for it yet.

brainderailment says: It looks great, for a gta game.

I second that. No need to make the game stutter just because some models could use a bit more polygons. Even if the gameplay would just be San Andreas again with better gfx, it would still be cool enough.

Maybe they made it look like that so they could release it on the Wii as well, cause lets be honest, it aint looking much better than that...
either way though the game will be fun as hell, no matter what it looks like.

At first, I was unimpressed, but then I realized that this is a GTA game — not Uncharted — so these shots actually make Liberty City look damn good.
