It looks like the rumors were true, for the most part anyway! Activision just sent over a press release announcing 17 new tracks which add up to about 60 tracks in total. Comparing this to the rumor list though, there's still about 13 tracks or so that have yet to be confirmed. Of the new tracks listed, I'll be looking forward to making myself look like an idiot trying to play Disturbed, Slipknot, and White Zombie. I seriously have like two left feet when it comes to Guitar Hero. Hit the jump to see the entire list as well as all of the other tracks announced so far.

Cliffs of Dover, hells yeah!
Damn, it looks like I might have to get this. Beastie Boys+Sonic Youth+Social D+Smashing Pumpkins = Dyson's high school days.
So. Many. Good. Songs. **DROOL**
BEST NEWS EVAR!! But seriously the line up for the new GH keeps getting better and better.
Go team!!
Stricken (by Disturbed)
Before I Forget (by Slipknot)
Through Fire and Flames (by Dragonforce)
Take This Life (by In Flames)
Number of the Beast (by Iron Maiden)
Paranoid (as made famous by Black Sabbath)
Rock You Like a Hurricane (as made famous by Scorpions)
= The best out of the entire list... according to my mixed taste anyways.
Still I would rather have had:
Down With The Sickness or Stupify (Disturbed)
Left Behind or My Plague (Slipknot)
My Sweet Shadow or anything from Clayman (In Flames)
Dance of Death or Afraid To Shoot Stangers (Iron Maiden)
Slayer FTW.
I don't see Rock Band killing GHIII with this kind of line up.
Sayer and Maiden!
AFI!
nice to see what a little competition will do to developers.
Yay, I know 0 of these new songs!
GH3, from what I have seen in the video scares me a lot. Track list is awsome BUT it seams when you miss a note you still hear everything, including guitar, but a bit muted.
If it is like that it almost seems "their as made famous by" is merely a rip of the CDs and their can't mute the guitar alone since they don't have separate audio track for it.
hope i'm wrong.
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
RAINING BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!
Bloc Party
Matchbook Romance
The Killers
Santana
FUCK THAT GARBAGE! HURRY UP AND ANNOUNCE KILLSWITCH ENGAGE ALREADY!
KsE!
KsE!
BLACK SUNSHINE!
That is all.
Want.
Awesome, just like high school, except not.
Give me Shadows Fall: Redemption & Another Hero Lost.
I have to say, that's a pretty nifty photoshop.
I really don't expect Rock Band to kill Guitar Hero 3. I see some sort of co-existance going on between the two in rock harmony. I can't see Rock Band fans hating GH3. Although I can see Guitar Hero 3 fanatics taking cheap shots at Rock Band fans every chance they get.
Slayer!
It's probably zero, but what are the chances we could get a little Jeff Buckley. Eternal Life would do for me, or even Grace.
Sweet zombie Jesus! Holiday in Cambodia! SOLD!
social d! fuckin awsome!
Sweet, now I'll buy it.
This track list is really looking solid. Good times.
Wasn't there a report a week or so ago saying you can't play 2 player in quick play in GH3? 'Cause that'd be a personal deal breaker for me, despite how fun some of these songs would be. It's backward steps like that that ruin games for me.
Um. Where the hell is Radiohead?
Bloc Party ftw! Finally some good songs!
Personally? I can't wait for Heart's "Barracuda"
CHA-CHIGGA-CHA-CHIGGA-CHA-CHIGGA-CHA-CHIGGA-CHA-CHIGGA-CHA-CHIGGA-CHA-CHIGGA-CHA-CHA!!
PEAOOOOOOOO-OW-OW-OW-OW-OW!
oooh i likey the Slipknot. And anything with Slayer owns n.n. Now where the hell is Dethklok? I'd love to play some Murmaider or Birthday Dethday =P
Maybe I'll luck out and they'll make those downloadable for RB or GH3...
@ urbanyeti
OOOOOooooooohhhh Barracuda..
chun chigga chun chigga chun chigga
urbanyeti wins the internet for that panty-moistening rendition of Barracuda.
I read the "rumoured" complete tracklist a few weeks back on my phone when I was on the bus, and I pumped my fist in the air several times upon reading about Steve Ray Vaughan.
Just sucks that it's a cover.
That song list is incredible.
Cliffs of Dover?!?!!?!1
The thought of finally being able to successfully play that entire song on a guitar......even if its a much lesser electronic one....
AND Pride and Joy???
Not to mention all the other great shit.
I'm sold.
I want this now, I have been experiencing low levels of Rock lately and must do all I can to preserve our spirit.
I wish they had some Human Abstract.
That would be kickass, but I still can't wait for this game.
Cliffs of Dover, Pride and Joy, and the Who = wet in the pants
Devil went down to Georgia!!!! HEEELLLL YES
I was planning on just getting Rock Band, but after seeing this track list... I have to get both
Ill just save some money and get the ps2 version :D
I like half of these new songs. Sonic Youth? DK's? Social Distortion? Thank you.
I can totally see a GH 3 party in the making.
Kool Thing is an interesting choice for Sonic Youth, but at least they made it on there.
Also, Number of the Beast is gonna be insane.
I don't think there is any doubt this is the best song list for the series so far. You can listen to all of the songs, including these brand new ones, at the playable Guitar Hero 3 Song List website.
Cool beans
Im still kinda digging RBs setlist a bit more, but this one is fucking great too.
Yay! A lot of songs that I will never want to play! Yay!

awesome, sick track list.
buuuut.
it would be better with dethklok. maybe awaken or mermaider.
Black Magic Woman ftw!!
I wonder if they're gonna butcher the Dead Kennedy's lyrics on Cambodia, ala Police Truck on "Rocks the '80s"? Still haven't forgiven them for that. Pretty excited to see Social D on there though. As for Charlie Daniels, well, that just belongs in Fiddle Hero, because there's little to no guitar in that track.
yeah Bloc Party!
Wow, that's...that's a lot of win. Dammit, and here I thought Rock Band would make Guitar Hero completely irrelevant.
Social Distortion!! Fucking sweet, it's about time. I think this is the most epic Guitar Hero to date.
Rage Against the Machine, Queens of the Stoneage, Slayer, must have this game.
Although I really want to see the Ram Jam version of Black Betty on that list somewhere
Well, it’s awesome to see all these songs confirmed by Activision. I’m looking forward to this game more than ever, especially now that it includes “Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen” (the actual full title of the song), “The Seeker”, “Same Old Song and Dance”, “Sunshine Of Your Love”, and “Pride and Joy”. WHOOOOO!
Well it looks like that leaked set list is turning out to be true...so in that case...
MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE MY CURSE. Killswitch Engage rocks, and so does that song.
Apparently Devil Went Down To Georgia is gonna be a metal cover. So no fiddle, simply the rock. If they do half as good as the Primus cover of this song with the GH3 cover, I will be pleased
W00T BLOC PARTY!
HEY KOOL THING. KOOL KOOL KOOL KOO KOO KOO KOO. Now put Anthrax/Public Enemy's Bring Tha Noise and Chuck D can have two songs on Guitar Hero III. Too bad more than half of these new songs aren't the original recording but oh well.
Slayer?!
WE WANT KILLSWITCH! *clap clap clapclapclap*
One of Bloc Party's best songs. One of Cream's best songs. This is a pretty good list.
This list is still missing Aerodynamic by Daft punk...
I'll just play them using an amp and 1/4th cable, thanks.
Oh and the guitars with strings, yeah, i'll do that.
