It looks like the rumors were true, for the most part anyway! Activision just sent over a press release announcing 17 new tracks which add up to about 60 tracks in total. Comparing this to the rumor list though, there's still about 13 tracks or so that have yet to be confirmed.
Of the new tracks listed, I'll be looking forward to making myself look like an idiot trying to play Disturbed, Slipknot, and White Zombie. I seriously have like two left feet when it comes to Guitar Hero. Hit the jump to see the entire list as well as all of the other tracks announced so far.

Go team!!
Before I Forget (by Slipknot)
Through Fire and Flames (by Dragonforce)
Take This Life (by In Flames)
Number of the Beast (by Iron Maiden)
Paranoid (as made famous by Black Sabbath)
Rock You Like a Hurricane (as made famous by Scorpions)
= The best out of the entire list... according to my mixed taste anyways.
Still I would rather have had:
Down With The Sickness or Stupify (Disturbed)
Left Behind or My Plague (Slipknot)
My Sweet Shadow or anything from Clayman (In Flames)
Dance of Death or Afraid To Shoot Stangers (Iron Maiden)
I don't see Rock Band killing GHIII with this kind of line up.
If it is like that it almost seems "their as made famous by" is merely a rip of the CDs and their can't mute the guitar alone since they don't have separate audio track for it.
hope i'm wrong.
Matchbook Romance
The Killers
Santana

OOOOOooooooohhhh Barracuda..
chun chigga chun chigga chun chigga
I read the "rumoured" complete tracklist a few weeks back on my phone when I was on the bus, and I pumped my fist in the air several times upon reading about Steve Ray Vaughan.
Just sucks that it's a cover.
The thought of finally being able to successfully play that entire song on a guitar......even if its a much lesser electronic one....
AND Pride and Joy???
Not to mention all the other great shit.
I'm sold.
That would be kickass, but I still can't wait for this game.
Ill just save some money and get the ps2 version :D
Also, Number of the Beast is gonna be insane.
Im still kinda digging RBs setlist a bit more, but this one is fucking great too.
