17 minutes of Brutal Legend with Tim Schafer photo

We at Destructoid cannot get enough of Brütal Legend. Everything about this game is going to be so awesome!

A new video for the game was released and it shows off the first 17 minutes of the game. All of this was covered in our preview already, but this video also has Tim Schafer walking us through the entire thing, which makes it 100 times better.

There’s just something about Tim Schafer that’s so ... magical. Like, he could be selling a wrecked car filled with flaming dog sh*t and I know he’d be able to convince me that it’s the best thing ever. I'd end up buying three off of him due to his charm.

I am so looking forward to Rocktober when Brütal Legend is released. How about you? Hit the break to check out the new video.

[Video via Giant Bomb because I did not want to download/upload a 2.6-gigabyte video file. Jesus. -- CTZ]

"Creating beauty by simply rocking, that's all."

It's official, Brutal Legend is on my list for GOTY right next to Blazblue

Holy fuck the gameplay looks really awesome too. Kind of like Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask with some of Tim Schafer's classic mind puzzles (and kickass humor!)

Game of the motherfucking generation!

Eddie's facial expressions remind me of Rasputin's from Psychonauts. They must have the same animation guy doing them.

Getting this game day one. It looks amazing. If they do a Collector's Edition or something I'll probably get that version.

wow, I want this so badly. but I have no consoles for it. hopefully it'll come to the PC, like Psychonauts, or else I'm going to have to get a PS3 just for this.

was that Motorhead during the first driving sequence? I need this. argh.

This reminds me of psychonauts in so many ways. The facial expressions, the weird environments, the humor, etc.

Instant sell!

I hope they fix the roadkill mechanic. The car kept pushing enemies instead of killing them.

@RonBurgandy

Yeah, I noticed that too. I'm hoping that since Schafer has obviously seen and played the thing a bit at this point he's planning to fix that.

That "evil prayer" to get the spider thing moving was one of the funniest things I've heard all week. I'm hoping this one has the sales it deserves, unlike Psychonauts.

Sweetness! I wonder if the car mechanics are a bit wonky yet, or if Tim's just better at designing games than playing them? Either way, this is another day one purchase for me.
