First the good news: OMG Evil Dead RPG! Now the bad: It's not a real thing.

The above screens are the work of London-based pixel artist Gary J Lucken, who goes by the name Army of Trolls. Lucken posted the mock-up screens on his portfolio Web site, which got me thinking that this is a thing that needs to happen. Now.

There's been a handful of Evil Dead games sent to market, including a Commodore 64 title released in the 80s. With the popularity of platforms like the iPhone, I can't think of a better time than now for the world to get its 16-bit-style Evil Dead role-playing game.

While Army of Darkness (I only got to watch the last 40 mins.) was on last night, I'm not really lamenting this not existing. Know why? I've got Splatterhouse RPG to tide me over!

I love Army of Trolls. Got many pixel art books that prominently feature his work.
Love Evil Dead. It's been one of my favorites since I was in high school.

This is definitely a case of two great tastes that go great together.
