1252 Famicom title screens in five minutes
by Aaron Linde on 06.10.2007 26 comments

I love the Internet. Somewhere out there exists a fellow who wondered, "Y'know what I want? A video showcasing title screens from every Famicom game ever created, arranged in chronological order to a swingin' beat." And being that it had not been done before, said fellow up and did it himself. So here you go, gang: every Famicom screen flashing before your eyes at a rapid-fire rate.

It's almost hypnotic, isn't it? The great thing about a video like this is the ways in which you can watch the level of detail and the design standards evolve from the Famicom's three original launch titles -- Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., and Popeye -- in just the title screens. Amazing how things can change in eleven years.

Any movie with trippy Stravinsky goodness is worth my time, even if I never played any of these games...

Some dude spent time making that video instead of helping end world hunger... so sad... haha

Seriously, that was incredible. Unfortunately, I don't have the patience to watch the entire thing. But I get the idea, and that idea is awesome.

Did anyone catch "Wall Street Kid" in there?

I would rather see a version with just the NES games and not the Japanese Famicom games. Sorry, but all the Japanese writing just made me want to stop viewing. I know it's super cool and it's Famicom and everything, but I didn't play Famicom, goddamn it. I played NES. Cool video though.

Holy shit, so many childhood memories (Bubble Bobble, SMB3, Rambo...okay, they weren't all good memories)

BTW, anyone notice the Japanese Who Framed Roger Rabbit screen at 2:44?

I traced the position of the s in "start" for the start game command and it drew the sumbol for pure Satan. He's sitting next to me now drinking my beer. Ass.

Hey, i'm still listening to this and i've started noticing duplicates... Donkey Kong is duplicated about 1:53, for example... i can't be bothered to find the others.. Just thought i'd point that out :).
