As for 007 Legends, I'm... interested. I've only seen parts of Moonraker, and I agree. What I saw was kinda goofy. The movie I'd like to see in it is still my favorite one to date: Goldfinger. I don't think it'd make the transition to video game form well since it's not very action heavy, but I freaking love that movie.
Probably has to do with licenses and likeness rights and all the bullshit that comes with copyrights. It also could just simply be Roger Moore himself, but who knows, there's just tons of red tape and expenses involved with stuff like that.
I'm with Swishiee on this. Didn't know about the trailer, and I knew the movie was in development hell because of the license and other bullshit. I was worried Craig would be like Dalton and then be replaced before the next movie was made.
I suppose if it's first person it doesn't matter, but it'd be nice to play as Roger Moore's Bond too, at leats for the mission(s) that is based on his film. Throw some one-liners, incapacitate guards with one punch, have the craziest gadgets and the best suits.
You know the book actually was much better. Adapting that into a game would be difficult though.
Maybe you should try looking at a N64 game before saying stuff like that.
@jc83
I hate the Moonraker movie, but yes, the book is great, this game is celebrating the 50 years of Bond movies though, so any book would be weird to put in there.
I know expecting a plethora of variety from a AAA action game is like asking the tide to turn back in, but come on guys, you can at least try to give it the breadth of an actual Bond film. Taking the gun barrel out of the player's face would be a good first step towards this. ...oh well.
Anyways, game looks good, but I'm a Bond fanboy, so any 007 that isn't James Bond Jr. or the one where Woody Allen eats a bomb and kills everyone will be fine my me.
Other way around. Lazenby was fine, but the script calls for Bond to do some dumb stuff. Stealing Playboy and dropping his sporran wasn't going to make any actor look good.
Funny how it's the most overlooked Bond film actually, considering it's arguably the most important to the character's development.
I found him a little bland, but always enjoyed the film. Sure it's a bit campy and OTT but they all were weren't they?
If they're tweaking the storylines as the did with Goldeneye to bring them up to date a bit more, then I think OHMSS could really sing. Maybe up the gadget quota a bit.
Skyfall will be one of the six films represented in the game. The reason they're doing multiple Bond films is because the game is releasing in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Bond films.
@Andy of Comix Inc
When EA had the franchise that's totally the direction they were going in. You should check out Everything or Nothing. I was sad that Bloodstone was sub-par because it meant Activision was going to veer away from third person which is really the way Bond should be played.
And I really do want this to be good. I'm just pretty skeptical at this point.
