See? What did I tell ya? Though Mega Man games may very well have gone the way of the dodo, the merchandising train is just picking up steam!
A few members of the Capcom Sound Team have joined forces to form a Mega Man cover band called ROCK-MEN. Their debut project, We are ROCK-MEN!, is a rock arrange album spanning both the Classic and X series. Now, there have been an absurd number of Mega Man music compilations over the years, but even though they cover a lot of the same material, the different styles of arrangement and composition keep the music fresh and, most importantly, fun.
In the demo clip above, the ROCK-MEN do their rendition of the Dark Man theme, the hands-down best track off of Mega Man 5. Just a few seconds in, I could feel my wallet getting heavier in my pocket. When this baby drops on September 21 for 2100 yen (about $27), you can count on me to be among the first to snatch it up like a relapsed heroine addict!
@mattrod288 Really? Because it seems to work well for compilations like Mega Man Zero and Sonic 1-3. Why wouldn't it work for the first three SNES titles?
This album was originally announced a while back. This is just a status update. The merch train has nothing to do with the game cancellations.
Also, the DS should have no trouble running X4-X6 either. Take a look at the DS Castlevanias or even the ZX games to get an idea of how well the DS can handle software around PS1 level.
Okay, (probably dumb) question.. Is this EMPLOYEES starting the band on their own and now making something of it.. Or is it CAPCOM making these employees do this to cash in on the Mega Man loot that they've been telling us, the actual fans, doesn't exist?
Cause if its the former, I'm cool with it.. If its the later I'm pissed.
