@OfficialBF1943 - we can handle '43 weapons in Bad Company 2 photo

This just in: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will feature a time machine. According to a recent tweet from the official Battlefield 1943 account, fans of the bite-sized downloadable Battlefield will feel right at home with the next iteration of the Battlefield Bad Company franchise. Apparently, the upcoming title will make use of all the guns from 1943: the semi-auto rifle, the sniper rifle, and the SMG.

We’re not sure where the connection is here. The high-machismo tweet spoke only of the weapons. It omitted details like how World War II-class weapons would make it into a modern shooter or why exactly a person would even choose a flimsy SMG over, say, a 5.57 Carbine. We suppose we'll hear more about this soon.

And to answer your question, Battlefield 1943 account: yeah, we think we're badasses with Battlefield 1943 weapons. Check our stats, brother.* Step back.

* Omit Brad Nicholson's statistics from an query. He flies planes like a retard and has the suicides to prove it.

Sounds cool. I mean if you kill a guy with an older weapon than his modern and more accurate weapon it would be more insult to injury. I'd use the sniper for sure, that thing is so powerful in 1943.

The Garand is my weapon of choice for every game.

It'll be interesting to see how that even plays out.

People STILL use the Garande rifle nowadays and other WW2 weapons. But is it practical to put it in a game? There's not much point of putting a old rifle in a game that can be outclass easily by a modern rifle. Unless you like variety or a challenge there's no reason to put obsolete weapons in a game.

A mix up of weapons? This sounds like sexy fun.

They don't have to be realistically inferior to the modern ones. Currently in BF1943, mounted gun on a tank seems to be less powerful than garand! Tanks in 1942 was the business, you'd change your way when you saw one.

M1 Garand is stronger than a lot of modern rifles. I'd use it in BF:BC2.
