Another World -- or Out of this World, as many of you will know it by -- is now on DRM-free digital distribution service Good Old Games. It can be had for $9.99. Need I say more?
I love the game, even though I have never made it more than oh, five minutes in. It's more or less universally loved by the Destructoid staff. Not long after we got an email detailing the good news, the thread soon reached fifteen or so replies full of praise for the game.
Other, less exciting recent releases include: Empire Earth II Gold, Gabriel Knight 3, and Aquanox. Not to completely s**t on these games, but this is Another World we're talking about here.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
@ munkee
never quite got into flashback. it felt halfway between this and oddworld, but not as satisfying or competent as either.
I have a bunch laying around, you can have one if you want to pay the shipping but its probably worth more to ship than what the snes is worth
Such a fun game...even if it is in a die-every-30-seconds sort of way. :)
Although I have the SNES version, I'm still picking this one up as I hear it's got some improvements.
on a side note, I am still waiting for the following to show up on GOG for me to be totally <3 w/ that site:
- Battlezone 1 & 2
- Homeworld 1 & 2
- System Shock 1 & 2
The PC version has far less load times and better performance overall than the SNES version. It's quite a bit better, IMO.
To my liking, it has one of the best endings ever. I remember it fondly.
great game though...
i have the 15th aniversary edition and there is a bonus interview with eric chahi which is great! i like the part when jean-françois freitas talk about when chahi asked him to compose music to his new game. freitas asked him to show him some material from the game and the chahi responded that he already made the whole game in secret :)
This post has solved one of the greatest mysteries of my childhood. Thank you, Destructoid.
