'Lucidity' is a LucasArts thing, to be released on XBLA photo

Amidst all this classic adventure title brouhaha, LucasArts has apparently been busy creating a fresh downloadable IP for Xbox LIVE Arcade.

According to a Joystiq “inside source,” the title is an interesting side-scroller called Lucidity. Here’s the interesting part: rather than controlling the game’s protagonist, Sofi, like in Metroid or whatever, players will be tasked with providing the environmental tools she needs to progress through a level. In other words, Sofi has autonomy and the player is merely a contributor.

Sounds delightfully, uh, indie. We’ll definitely keep our eyes peeled for this one if or when LucasArts decides to announce it.

it's 5 in the morning where I am, and I had to read that a few times before it clicked.
as much as I love all the old adventure games, lucas arts trying out the weirdo art-game waters will fill my dreams with wonder. very interested to see what this becomes.

How is a game put out by a massive publisher an "indie" game?

It SOUNDS indie. Brad never said it WAS indie. And when people say "indie" in this context, they basically just mean "artsy." Anyway, I'm glad LucasArts is trying something newish. They've been a bit lackluster, for quite some time.

Do want in-game footage so I can decide if I do want this game.
