@Hardock: Kotaku ran a story about a bike with a built-in laptop case, which is only related to games in that a laptop CAN be used for gaming. How is this any different from running stories of real news that involves video game consoles?

I’m really glad people are following up on this. It’s not just that he abused the story of a murderer for his own benefit, it’s not just that he lied to a grieving grandmother so he could get her reaction, it’s not just that he printed the reaction and oblivious lies and tried to pass them off as fact. It’s that he’s not even sorry, and now he’s hiding behind negative stereotypes and petty insults to defend himself.
I just hope the people who are messaging him are keeping it classy and not sending a bunch of “I hope you die” stuff. Because the last thing gamers need is to give a bunch of ammo like that to a tacky journalist who’s clearly willing to bend the truth if it suits his own agenda.

If he's writing for the Star (which is hardly a reputable paper), then his carreer most likely hasn't panned out how he wanted it to anyway.
