Seriously? You guys are worried about how gamers are perceived? Grow an extra layer of skin and shut up. Let these morons think what they want and pay for it in the meantime. I actually pay a lot of attention to Amazon reviews. Hopefully these (and mine) will dissuade buyers.

It's rather sad that given all of her qualifications, she doesn't seem to be involved in any actual research... but instead seems to specialize in being a professional TV guest and author of crap-books that hold no scientific validity whatsoever.
If she's going to present herself as an on-air "expert", then it's actually good that she is being held accountable for her expertise. Spouting personal opinion that has no basis in research or fact should be called for what it is... a steaming pile of shit. Her integrity has been questions... and found to be flawed. If she can back up her preposterous claim it will be interesting, but I don't think that there is any way she can back it up as both research and statistics seem to be against her.

I do find it funny that the book cover is so obviously sexual. Honestly, -IF- I had a gun to my head and someone asked me, "Which do you think would cause more rapes, Bulletstorm or this book *shows book cover*?", I would totally pick the book. Bulletstorm isn't sexual at all. Her argument simply doesn't make any sense....

I agree to a certain extent, but in the long run, if it keeps filth like hers from selling to the mainstream, I think that's just as positive an outcome.

If anyone is really worried enough about the public image of gamers to do something about how this response will make them look by association, how about said individuals take a trip to their local library, check out a copy of the book then write a scathing review made all the more damaging by being able to pick it apart major argument by major argument.
That or they could just point out how flimsy her premise is. A valid critique but sadly it would be a complete and total waste of my time to invest any time whatsoever in listening to pop psychiatry without any valid basis of scientific study or anything beyond "This is what I think." We've made celebrities of Dr. Phil and Oprah for simply stating what they think, saying it's proven, and stating "that's good enough for me."
If I was to waste my time with a book, I find the ACTUAL studies much more interesting. I like the impact of society and culture upon the individual rather than sound clips and positive reviews from fellow TV Psychiatrists. So as much as I wish I could offer debate after debate flunking out her points, the first 10 pages was enough for me to write it off as horseshit and read "Why things are" instead.

I see nothing wrong here. Is it wrong for people to be upset about being likened to rapists by a woman that is brutally raping common sense herself?
While the one star reviews are amusing, the 5 star reviews are the real meat. If any genuine, actual reader of that book wrote those reviews I'd be surprised. They sound like they were probably just pulled together by the people behind the book to make sure Amazon had some nice, flattering reviews for them.
