Singling them out so the Dtoid community can snicker at how mentally challenged they are is getting very old, very fast.
I'm glad Nintendo is doing this, maybe this Gen it will actually be worth it to own all the consoles. My Wii and 360 were paperweights for mail I didn't read while my ps3,psp, and ds were rocked hard.
for me personally I don't care, probably because I found bayonetta to be average at best. Also big N is going to have to show me that there system can improve the games that come on there platform if they want me to pay top dollar.but this is a step in the right direction, now lets see if they can keep it up.
Im not thrilled about the Wii U exclusivity, but if i get the system that'll be the first title I pick up.
That being said, I was one of those who were understandably pissed about the exclusivity. I absolutely LOVE the first game, and it doesn't really make sense to make a SEQUEL exclusive to a Nintendo system, when the original never graced the Wii.
But, if Platinum thinks this is where they should make it, I'm not going to argue; they're an excellent developer with a proven track record of awesome games. Does it change my mind about the Wii U? Not really. It was certainly a surprise, but I was always planning to get my hands on the system, if not way later into next year.
Are these people being silly and dramatic? Absolutely. But they have a LEGITIMATE reason to be upset, especially if they weren't planning on getting the system and are huge fans of the original.
1st week: stupid ps3 fans
2nd week: stupid Nintendo fans
3rd week: stupid Xbox360 fans
4th week: stupid pc fans
maybe at the end we can all get together and find out that we're all gamers and that idiots can be found anywhere
Perhaps the WiiU will follow that same path. I still think Bayonetta 2 is going to sell HORRIBLY now, though.
If the other companies really dropped the ball, it's good nintendo grabbed it. Besides, if the Wii U is getting ports, it's not impossible that the PS3 and the Xbox 360 get some too, including this, if it sells and etc.
I want Bayonetta 2, but the Wii U has nothing of interest outside of that and I'm not going to spend $300 to play that one game.
Maybe if the Wii U actually was the first system of the next generation... but in reality, it's the last system to this one.
I'll suck it up in the meantime and see if we have another "Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma" thing going on or see if I find a need for a WiiU outside of this game.
As far as the Wii U being the last system of this generation however, I really like your point on that.
Thank you internet. I feel better already.
Whats with the air quotes? Just because they maybe overreacting they can't possibly really be fans or something? I don't get that.
"Exclusivity always makes some people feel left out, and that sucks, but in this case we're talking about a game that is lucky to be getting a sequel at all."
Err, but a game that was cross-platform that had tons of buzz going into its release and was very VERY well received once it was (Metacritic scores of 90 on the 360 and 87 for the PS3 -- and yes, we know these scores matter, even if they shouldn't)? Seriously, I don't blame people for being upset by this news, because it's honestly going to make no sense to fans to have have to be pushed into spending $300+ just to continue on with a series that was cross platform in the first place. And even if all these people end up with Wii U's one day, and play this game, I still say that -in this very moment- they're concerns, no matter how trumped up, are completely valid and will continue to be valid as long as developers and publishers keep doing odd shit like this.
Overall this has nothing to do with this: "For years, people bashed Nintendo for not having more M-rated, "AAA" 3rd party exclusives. When they make an effort to change that, people complain." If Nintendo was making their own game that was M-rated, people probably wouldn't complain (they'd be scared) but to take a game that was so available to people because of its multiple platforms, and use it as part of the backbone of this campaign of change? Not so good for fans who shouldn't have to buy another piece of hardware -one they were probably not even considering owning- JUST because they may want to play this single game that your suddenly claiming is "lucky to have gotten a sequel at all". Again, if we were talking about buying a new Nintendo system for a new Nintendo game, yeah, it would make a ton of sense, but we're talking about a Sega published, and I would assume it would publish again if it had the chance, given that it did so well for them.
Beyond defending these peoples right to be mad, really Holmes, I don't understand why it always feels like you and Jim are playing "Everything you can do, I can do better" cause it isn't all that charming, at least not when its your turn. All this "copy and paste quotes from pissed off gamers" crap is really doing --specially this late in a generation absolutely STUFFED with this behavior-- is showing us how little you guys seem to have on your plate over the last few months.
Also, as side note, anyone possibly ready to say "oh he's probably a fan, so he's flipping out too" I'm REALLY not.. I played the demo to the first one and hated it, and I only gave that a chance because I was hoping it'd fell a Devil May Cry-like void I had since the 3rd one (since I didn't like the 4th DMC). If failed to do that and I still haven't bothered to pick up the game despite its low low price. I'm happy its getting a sequel, as I think every IP should get at least 2 games to prove it self, but beyond that I probably wouldn't be buying this game even if it was cross-platform. I just can't stand this weird stance that peoples thoughts are irrelevant because they're overreacting: Don't like it, then stop reading the comments on social media. Because all your doing really is doing exactly what they're doing, and not even about something you love (unless you love people complaining about shit).
To those who are claiming that they'll kill themselves over Wii U exclusivity for "Bayonetta 2": please do. That will be fewer entitled whiners that make the rest of us look bad.
Seriously? Do they want us to actually play games on it? Or just store mii pics?
It's more like "xbox and ps aren't allowed to not have these games, especially when someone else does".
@the "extortion guy"
This is "extortion" as much as Naughty Dog being a 3rd party Sony exclusive is.
Scenario 2: Nintendo announces some great 3rd party exclusives to really make their system more appealing. People go apeshit, complaining that they've been screwed over.
I'm fucking ashamed to be a gamer sometimes.
Also, people need to realize that without Nintendo publishing this game, there probably would be no Bayonetta 2. Saleswise, the first one didn't perform satisfyingly enough to warrant a sequel, so yeah. Try being a bit more grateful for the fact the game exists at all.
If Bayonetta 2 was exclusive to a system that was already out.
Pretend I said 360 or PS3. They are already out and are more affordable and will likely be even more affordable by the time the Wii U comes out since I expect Sony to drop their new model with a sub $200 (like really sub 200... not 199... like 150 or 180) price tag.
The point was more that the Wii U is 300 and won't stand up to the next gen systems of the PS4 and Next Xbox. You're paying a premium price for something that already does what the other 2 do right now.
I will likely still get one, but there is nothing compelling on it right now. So I'm going to wait.
What gets me is the platform they chose. I really hope this isn't an emerging trend, because I don't see this as Nintendo becoming more "core", if anything they may have to soften their titles a bit for Nintendo's stamp of approval. I see this as gimmick infused bullshit. The Wii U is not the future, it's old tech doing slightly new tricks, and overall it's a brand that left people like myself behind ages ago. It's not exciting, it isn't even out and already it's doing a lot of things that will likely end poorly.
I'll worry if this emerges as a pattern with other developers/publishers. For now the unfolding shitstorm is amusing to watch.
I also feel bad for the people in THIS thread actually telling people to off themselves...
C'mon people... these are human beings you're talking about...
-_-;;
I really hope Mega64 makes a video about this "fiasco" in which gamers are crying about their lives being over, but I guess it's really just a matter of whether or not Dominic is one of the crybabies or if he already has a WiiU preordered.
Twats. That's what all the haters are.
Please stop playing games, haters. I do not wish to be grouped together with people like you.
Anyone that wants to kill themselves because another console got a game they want exclusively should feel free to do so, because they're obviously a Darwin award of a person that's stealing all of our oxygen.
It's b/c it's a new system that is not yet worth the price to me.
Doesn't matter if it was Sony or Microsoft. If the situation were the same with just different names, I would still be pissed.
I make it a point to own all consoles b/c that way I can be a gamer and have the best of all worlds... and I will get a Wii U eventually I'm sure... but between the lineup, and getting burned on the 3DS already... I'm passing... and that's why I'm upset about Bayonetta.
I never had the first one, but I was interested in it, but then all of the sudden this came out and I was damn I wanted a Wii U in the first place you got me in the balls Nintendo.
Oh well can't wait for the Wii U to make or break it so I can see even more NINTENDO IS DOOOOOOOOOOMED memes again.

I'm not being a wiseguy. I honestly don't know.
Also people are still trotting that Nintendo is Kiddie garbage, that was a tired argument since 2001.
