'Exciting' Dragon Age: Origins PS3 announcement coming photo

As far as we know, the PS3 version of Dragon Age: Origins won’t have exclusive Challenge Room DLC starring the purple-clad trickster The Joker. But that could all change this mid-morning as game developer BioWare is planning to blast an “exciting” announcement about this version of Origins directly to PS3 owners.

According to the official Origins Web site, BioWare’ Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk will make an “exciting announcement” in a live chat that is to be published in motion on both official PlayStation blogs at 11 AM (PST). In addition to the announcement, the two co-founders will be answering questions about the game with lead designer Mike Laidlaw and executive producer Mark Darrah.

We plan to drop in and ask some very important questions. For example, what kind of Hot Pockets would a Grey Warden prefer? Is he a Philly cheese dude, or does he like pepperoni? Also, has he ever burned his mouth on one because he tried to eat it too fast? We must know this.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Dragon Age themed Home Space...

I bet it's going to be DLC packaged with the game, or exclusive to it for being a couple of weeks late.

I'm betting it has something to do with either the level editor showing up on the PS3, or at the least, using PC user-created levels on the PS3.

I really hope it's only a theme or something. I was a bit irritated Arkham Asylum for PS3 had the Joker and that people who bought it for other systems (PC, xbox) will never get it. If it is something extra that could be distributed to the other systems I'll be pretty pissed if it's only a PS3 exclusive

I hope it is some kind of DLC. I am considering waiting for the PS3 version of the game. I just hope it didn't get crapped on in development like some EA games have.

My prediction is either Nov 3 release for PS3, or exclusive DLC. I *really* hope it's the former, because I'm getting it for PC.

"Exciting" announcement would be keyboard/mouse support for the PS3 version.

I call a character creation option that lets you make a dragon, riding a fucking dragon! Double down dragon for sure!

Podcast was funny this week guys, Jim, I cannot fix your voice to your face, it just doesn't work. (and you're a fat princess)

I'm hoping it's some sweet exclusive shit, it's about time the Trey brotherhood got some love. I'm still pissed at Rockstar for abandoning the core audience for it's classic games with recent DLC exclusivity.

I don't condone exclusive DLC either way generally, but what goes around needs to come around.

I'm probably alone in thinking this game looks kinda goofy and derivative. I think everyone has a massive boner for it just because BioWare makes it. Every trailer I've seen makes it look super corny. Just saying...

@uruhara,

Yeah, that has nothing to do with what we're talking about.

Though I must admit it was COMPLETELY badass and now I want this game hard.

As has been said across the Internet at times, it might be mouse and keyboard support.

That would be awesome for PS3 players.

@rsquad,

I actually couldn't possibly disagree with you anymore. I definitely wouldn't use the word corny or goofy... and I especially wouldn't use the word derivative. Some of the animations may look a little wonky, but the very essence of this game seems to attempt to breath new life into the setting that it is in, while at the same time being reminiscent of the gameplay found in the Baldur's Gate games. I have a really good feeling that if you're a fan of RPG's and you overlook this game, that's going to be your loss.
